Pineapple "Attack"

  • So, I was thinking... Pineapples are round. You know, like cannonballs. So, then I had the funny idea of how cool it would be to be able to fire pineapples from your cannons. This would only work with pineapples due to its unique size and shape, not to mention tough outer layer. We already have the assets to show it in your hand and on the ground, so I don't think it would take much to use those same assets to show them bobbing up and down in the water or landing on a ship.

To be clear, this would not be an "attack" but rather the opposite - a way to help an allied ship in need, or just for fun. For example, if an allied ship has barely survived an encounter and is in desperate need of food due to a shortage of supplies.

Granted I know this can be trolled by unscrupulous crewmates, but if they were going to waste your supplies anyways, than it wouldn't really matter. Also, they're only pineapples - so I personally don't think it would be that big of a loss. I also realize that this might be mostly useless, but I still thought it'd be a tad useful and absolutely funny to see.

Perhaps they can heal (all) pirates on impact with a radius effect similar to cannonballs (but, you know, healing instead of hurting)? This would add a dynamic similar to cursed cannonballs, but add more flair and comic relief to the game while also making the most elusive fruit even more useful and bringing crews closer together than ever before.

Or we could just have a healing CCB. That would work too.

I'd think coconuts would make more sense. Pineapples are already special because you can eat them twice. Maybe if you miss the deck, it could make a splat on the ship.

I had completely forgotten about coconuts! You're right though, that probably would make more sense - but they're so easy to get. I kind of wanted this to be a not so common thing. Besides, being able to eat pineapples twice really makes it a toss-up (practically literally) whether you want to be selfish and keep it for yourself or shoot it off to other pirates instead.

    🥥🥥🥥🥥🥥

Maybe swap coconuts and mangos or something then. I think every fruit should have a purpose in some way, not just one being strictly better than another.

  • @blazedrake100 In any case, the idea is to "kill them with kindness" and promote more positive social interactions. 😘

  • This is a wonderful idea !

  • @blazedrake100

You are right, fruits need a more unique way to use it, as cooking by the way.
I think this is because Rare had a politic of "bringing content first". 3 Major updates in a row was pretty challenging.

But I hope they will upgrade their content over the months.

I have some ideas for fruits interactions :

Banana should give you a bonus if you eat 10/20/30/40...
It would give you the monkey power to climb everywhere.

    Coconuts could simply heal

Pomegranades could help you swim faster or stay longer in the water witout breathing.

Mangos could have a purge effect (poison, drunk, broken leg...)

And ananas... Must be fire from cannons !

  • @rakan-le-rouge I like the idea of fruit removing certain effects, but that would pretty much nullify a lot of the CCBs in the process, and I don't like that. Perhaps if each fruit fixed a different effect? One for drunkeness, one for poison, one for a broken leg, etc. Still, you have to ask yourself - does it make sense? For example, why would fruit fix a broken leg?

  • @galactic-geek

I understand there is a design coherence to respect here but you should be able to ask yourself : "which fruit do I need to use in this specific situation ?" rather than just eat the first fruit you've got in your indentory.

The purge effect of mango could be great as this fruit is really Rare around the world and it would help you fight the skelleton ships, and other players.

But yeah, its hard to find why this specific fruit would have this effect...

Why would bananas cure bullet wounds?

  • Dude that’s actually awesome!!

Could help with “meme crews” in the Sea of Thieves!!

Just fire pineapples at people and it’s just splattering their ship with pineapple juice XD if a pineapple hits a pirate (like when cannonballs do) it ends up going in their hands if their food inventory isn’t full, or if it is then it just splatters in impact

  • @galactic-geek All I can think of after reading this is a certain scene out of “Little Nicky” 🙈😂🤷‍♂️

    Touché.

  • What if we could use the fruits as paintball projectiles? They wouldn't do any damage except stain the boat and splash the players to blind them.

The color would vary according to which fruit was fired:
    pineapple, bananas : yellow stain
    mangoes : orange stain
    coconut : white stain
    pomegranate : red stain

  • @galactic-geek Ive posted it before that i want to shoot fruits from the cannons they dont have to deal damage just splash like the vomit but with diffrent colors and if you hit someone it would blind him like the puke.

  • @jojo5613 Yes exactly

  • Coconuts should do damage, along with pineapples. (Seriously pineapples have mass and spiky stems) bananas, and mangoes should do no damage and if you're carrying a blunderbuss, use all your ammo and have a pomegranate, you should be able to fire a pomegranate with the same spread and like half to 1/4 damage.

  • @pithyrumble Why not. If the coconuts and pineapples hit a player directly, it could do a bit of damage, but not too much in my opinion.

Using a pomegranate with a blunderbuss is really a good idea. Like the fishing rod and cannons, it would be easy to change the type of ammunition of the blunderbuss.

In any case for me the fruite as projectiles should not be considered dangerous, but rather a way to have fun without hurting anyone.
