What happened to these beasts? Now they're like puppies. We can't kill any because they all swimming away. None of them is dangerous. I dare you, if i ever meet shrouded ghost and he Will swim away like a coward i'll raid rare :D
Megalodons are joke
Megalodons have a large circular area they patrol when they spawn. You must stop before leaving this area or the megalodon will not continue to fight you. It is nearly impossible to kill them before you leave the area if you are sailing at full speed. I normally just drop the anchor as soon as I see one, as raising sails leads to drifting out of the area and the ship drifting away if you are thrown off by a bite. If you happen to leave the area, simply turn around and go back into it.
Think of it like a large version of the kraken's radius, except you can't see it and it doesn't slow you down.
@ultmateragnarok Man i killed over 50 megalodons. You do need to teach me how to engage them. As i said, something is broken with them

But anyway, Megladon's try to leave when you sail too close to certain rock formations and islands. So when you want to fight a meg raise sails and make a turn as soon as you hear the spawn music and you should be fine.

Also, I forgot to mention (though @Hynieth didn't) they also do not like going near land of any kind. Islands, rocks, sandbars, anything. Their AI specifically prevents them from going anywhere near it, since they just float up and over it. So if you don't want it to go away, just drop anchor (or raise sails, but anchor's easier and has less drifting on bites) and make sure there isn't land nearby.
@ultmateragnarok eh.. Landlubbers know nothing. I am a Brave Vangiard sailing with loot onboard whole session, fighting kraken in the middle of PvP fight and skelle ship engage. I don't really need advices. It's Just feedback that i made about cowardness of megalodons.
