Chests on the bottom of the sea

  • Me and my good buddy were coming back from a gold hoarder mission when we saw some shiny things on the bottom of the ocean. We found a chest half buried in the sand and a gold goblet half buried. Is there anyway to get these out?

  • @fatjoey323 You should be able to swim down and pick them up just like the ones you find "washed-up" on the shore. It's free loot!

  • @slayer-of-cats Yeah we've had ones like that before but we couldn't get either of them out with anything. We tried harpooning it, canons, shovels, and even an explosive barrel but nothing worked.

  • Were you getting the button prompt?
Maybe this should be in feedback instead.

So this must not have been too deep if you were hitting it with cannonballs and harpoons. Get a clip or screenshot?

  • Those are soemones lost loot. After it gets to far down they cannot be recovered and will despawn soon

  • I've seen a skelly ship get stuck and despawn, and when I sailed over to the area, there was loot on the beach and in the ocean in a similar state, stuck in the ground. Weirder still, it was slowly raising and lowering as if it were on top of the water (instead of sitting almost underground). I was able to collect some of it because when it was at its highest point, the 'pick up' prompt actually appeared for me.

Seems like a glitch that sometimes happens if loot hits the beach or water and no player or player boat is in the immediate area (just speculation though).
