Pirate legends

  • Me and my friends who plan to be pirate legends by the end of this summer were just doing shroudbreaker for fun. But a gallon of pirate legends came to the same island even though they didn’t have anything to do on that island , killed all of us, shouted racial slurs and constantly reminded us that we suck because we were not pirate legend. They then shouted how they were going to camp the island so we never get the tale done. And this isn’t the first time me and my friends have been terrorized by pirate legends. I know this game is called sea of THIEVES and being killed and being mischievous is part of the experience but it really gets annoying when a bunch of toxic people just get dead set on ruining your day just for the sake of not having nothing to do. I really love this game and the people working on this game probably get tons of these arguments but it would be really nice if pirate legends had more stuff to do, more stuff to level up, probably a pc or pirate legend only server because pc players always make fun Xbox players and say they suck, and just a more even playing field against the most dangerous players:pc pirate legends. Thank you rare for the amazing game. Keep up the good work.

    I am a legend Athena 10.
    I play on a PC.
I do not look down on xbox players some of the most talented pirates I know are on a xbox and will wipe the floor with most, regardless of platform.
I do not set out to ruin others.

There always going to be people that have finished the current objectives and decide they just want to be a pain for others. While there is no reason for it.

Btw. I am not claiming to always be a friendly pirate. I have tales of being a villain, for instance as a solo I have claimed Mermaids Hideaway as my own against a legendary galleon crew, who had one of their OOS quests there for their Athena voyage for over an hour (without a ship as they blew it up), cause they weren't friendly to me when they arrived and were unwilling to strike a deal.

I base it on the interactions with the crew at hand, though wil not use abusive language. I am always willing to strike a deal.

  • There are so many overgeneralizations in the initial post as to border on the patently ridiculous or seem rather suspect with some ulterior motive such as how the post suddenly switches gears to getting more for PLs. This thread's initial post is all over the place and seems like some sort of bait or lure to me...

  • If they were using offensive language directed towards you, report them to Microsoft via the Xbox Report System, and report them to Rare via Support Ticket. A recording helps if you can catch it.

Most everyone is not like that, so you may be better to bounce servers.

  • Just because somebody camps a high traffic spot doesn't make them toxic. It's called strategy. They know peeps will show up there and they're blood thirsty so kudos to them. However, not sure why those types just wouldn't play Arena. Maybe they looking for easy kills which is just pathetic.

  • @contentzilla Issue here with the TT is there is most likely no value in it for the camping crew. Taking the quest item only serves to disrupt gameplay for the victim. If they are repeatedly doing, that boarders on griefing and no where near "good strategy" on their part.

Just because a crew is doing a TT, it doesn't mean that they're not doing other voyages too. Along with the TT, they could easily do an Athena run (or other company voyages), a bonus bottle quest, and a cargo run ALL AT THE SAME TIME. So, yes, camping TT sites can be a good idea because who knows how much they could be carrying?

I fully agree they could have loot and the TT's are set up to run alongside voyages, but when compared to other potential camping posts, these locations aren't "good strategy" from my perspective. That along with the statement that they are going to camp the island knowing OP wanted to do the TT further pushes this towards griefing.

Knowing someone like this is in the area would also mean carrying less loot around and no loot to a TT location, further diminishing any potential value for the campers make it even worse of "strategy" unless they are solely there to grief.

It's not about Legends or Athena level or about PC or xbox, it's about personal character and behavior and socialisation.

Please report them all and at best have video evidence added to your report.

I'm on PC/Laptop, i'm Legend and all that and i'm a very friendly player even if i PvP i prefer to treat ot playful and easy and have a good talk anyway or especially if i PvP and compete want to keep things friendly among players and unforgiving for the Pirates :-)

You... play the victim card, whilst also announcing your bias against PC players... wat.

Here's how you correctly handle the situation you were put in:

    1. Report them to Rare customer service or whatever that section is called, using as much evidence you can provide them.
    2. Pretend to be salty about it ingame so they can hear you... try to do a 10/10 acting job, make them believe it!
    3. Swap servers, knowing they will wait HOURS to gank you in the previous server whilst you happily mosey along on your new server, finishing the tall tale, and quitting your daily SoT session long before they stop waiting for you, lol.

I like to call these tactics "The ol' switcheroo" which basically means you turned the tables on them... They intended to make your gaming experience unpleasant, so, by reporting violations of the pirate code to Rare, and avoiding them, you turned their malicious intent into a weapon against them.

TLDR; You don't need to complain on the forums, you already have all the tools you need to handle this! :)
