Tall Tales are unrewarding.

    I really enjoy the Tall Tales but i feel like they are a waste of time once you've done them once if you're looking to farm gold/rep and apart from the commendations ofc. A reasonable reward imo would be around 10,000gold and maybe a bit of rep with a faction of your choice. It's a simple fix though.

    The reward needs to be pretty substantial since it takes a good while to finish a tall tale. There's also always the risk that you fail somehow along the way and get nothing, which is ofc the case for every other voyage as well, but the difference here is that you only have the option to cash in at the end of it, which makes it more risky.

    @skritsarn While I see your point, I don't necessarily agree. I've got so much gold, it really doesn't matter if Tall Tales offer me 1 gold, 10 gold, 10K or 100K gold. I play the Tales because of the story and emmersion, which works incredibly well!

    @skritsarn you get 10k from the last chapter of it...but still, there are enough cosmetics to get in the tall tales...

    And the Pirate Lord himself says in the end of Shores of Gold:

    For us, the tales have been more rewarding than any other aspect of the game. If you allow yourself to become immersed in the story by listening to the dialog and role play as if you were in the game, it's so much more fun than simply trying to grind it out.

    Honestly they missed an opportunity to have cashes of gold durring the tall tales. Take the shroudbreaker for example. At the end there could be a bunch of chests, skulls, crates, trinkets in the vault. Without any physical reward then anyone doing them has nothing to steal. They also cant get rep up with any faction for an hour or more of work and each one requires 5 playthroughs. The tales could have easily had treasure spawn along the way inside the new vault system.

    @skritsarn The tales make you move betwedn islands. Every island has atleast 1 random piece of loot on it. While sailing you come across of sunken ships, megs, ghost ship and if you're lucky maybe Karen. If you rather speed through your tale you get nothing. If you look around you get more than you bargained for. Stop asking for wellfare when all the stuff is right in front of your eyes.

    I really enjoy the tall tales, I find completing them is rewarding enough. Only thing that annoys me is when you doing the boss battle there’s no health bar or sequence to give an idea how much damage you’ve done. Either that or we’ve just not noticed one? I love how it’s different from the usual Athena’s/bounty etc... I enjoy solving the puzzles and it’s so rewarding when you’ve solved it. They do give some awesome free stuff too.

    @haywirephoenix Exactly, like take the Wild Rose quest. Not one of my friends got through it without crying at the ending and the beautiful music which accompanied it.

    Right. You spend countless hours doing 9 voyages just to get 37k max and 0 doubloons. You could get that much by doing skeleton forts in a 10th of the time. Plus you dont get any faction xp. Total waste of time if the cosmetics dont suit you.

    the playing each one 5 times for curses is a joke.
    agree for the replay time 3k isnt worth the time but the missions are fun in and of themselves, they just lose luster after the 3rd playthrough
