Please devs a PvE server would bring in so so so many players. I have many friends willing to play but won’t because every time we play player hunters will constantly purse us. You did a great job with the update and the game is in my eyes near flawless it’s relaxing(when not being killed repeatedly) especially after a long day at work. I know for a fact you would have many more people buy and play your game if you gave the people a peaceful place to sail, fish, hunt and quest.
PvE servers would be incredibly nice.
I don't really think this should happen and I recall them on replying to someone on it as well about it defeating the purpose of SoT. As much as I hate the people come and kill you mid mission/ campaign, I think there would be too much to exploit in this and could create people get levels much faster and money quicker. For example, My friends want a server like this where you could invite your friends and have large alliances and basically not attack each other. Yes, this would be nice but i feel like it just wouldn't work for the rewards you get. Imagine how much money you would collect and levels, which would quickly get you to PL.
Even though I believe this would be a nice and friendly feature to the game, I believe it can't be added. Because even though there is threats of the Meg, Kraken and Skele ships, I think you need that extra threat of other people to make the game immersive as much as we can. I really don't want this game to dull down, even if they did add it, most people would like to move down into PvE servers as theyve added Arena and there is little amounts of PvP players on console.Sea of Thieves is not designed to have PvE servers. It goes against the idea of having different kinds of player motivations existing in one shared world. This is the very thing that makes Sea of Thieves so unique, and Rare needs to continue pursuing that concept.
They don't have to allow you to PvE without disturbance just because the game is "play how you want". "Play how you want" does not mean that every players' whim will be or even should be catered for. It means that you can play in the ways that you wish to, but you'll still be encountering others who play differently than you. That's what this game thrives on.
Also think about how PvE servers would be designed... How do you stop cannon fire, or gunpowder barrels, ramming other ships, etc... Trying to disable any of that is way too much effort and time for Rare to go through just to create a watered down version of the game for people who don't seem to even understand what Sea of Thieves is.
We don’t need any more topics about this.
P.S. Private Servers is something Rare is interested in adding to the game for the purpose of large groups of friends being able to hold contests, and games and such. They said they don't like the idea of players using something like this for PvE farming, so I wouldn't get your hopes up for gold and rep to be available there.

I agree fully.
I know the idea of PVE servers is inciting to some...as its asked for just about every other day. But the game was built with other players sometimes being an obstacle to you while completing missions.
Without that obstacle you would blow through quests and level up within a few weeks....because you would never have to look over your shoulder. It's built into the core game...that look over your shoulder aspect.
What people fail to realize is you really can't log into SOT with a specific mission in mind. The server setup tends to dictate what you can accomplish. If you are running into aggressive pirates, you'll need to compensate for that. Friendly pirates, alliance up and make more money and defend each other. Everytime you log in is a new adventure.
For example...No one is doing forts right now. However I see people at most of the small trading outposts fishing. People are even trading fish for Gold.
It is what it is...
I would prefer things like island and outpost npcs that attack aggressors, and have repercussions for sinking ships in the area like the inabilty to sell or buy goods or even resupply from barrels in the region you sank someone in for a certain time per ship.
Things that make most average players think twice more often and pvp in arena, but ramps up the pvp difficulty in adventure for the most hardcore pirates.
Beyond that having pve servers would be fine if they cap levels for trading companies at various points, and make gold returns much less profitable.
Though you could always join a pirate club on xbox or this forum or discord or reddit and join up and try to make an alliance server or atleast have a good crew most times.
Lets let them flesh out arena and adventure a bit more before we start talking about any 3rd modes imo.
Though i know its possible and wouldnt split the community or anything dumb like that, it would just be the addition of another option, the other 2 modes could use more work and tbh i wasnt even expecting an arena mode for a while longer. Glad they did it early so they can expand on it as they go, and maybe that same sentiment could apply to a pve mode, but idk.
2 modes for now seems like plenty for them to work on.
@ontheminute I feel a better solution is not to make cosmetics non-transferrable.
The trade off should be loot is worth less on PvE servers i.e. it takes longer to earn those cosmetics. Perhaps loot is worth 60% on PvE compared to 100% of its value on PvPvE?.. For example.
Perhaps someone would rather use the PvE server for a relaxing evening but still enjoy going on the PvPvE servers.. it would take them twice as long to earn anything if they enjoyed both servers, which isn't fair... this game is beautiful and although I've been a long-time supporter of the fact it's PvPvE I do completely understand people who look at this game and see potential to attract an entirely new audience. Particularly during fantastic events like the tell tales ones which sometimes require quite a bit of thought to solve!
Plus such a server need not have no other players, just a server with players but PvP turned off, you can't harm other players or interact with objects which they have claimed.
@the-mlg-cow53 The solution is simple then, reduce the rewards you would earn on such a server.. problem solved. I'm sorry but if they can add arena which is perfect for the PvP players they could easily do something to help those who just want to enjoy the scenery and relax after a busy week of work.
There is no reason people HAVE to use it, plenty of players would still be on the PvPvE servers, but this would be another way to utilise the beautiful world Rare have built.
I do agree though, balancing is obviously important.
