When a player ship sinks, spawn resource barrels

  • Basically, when a player ship is sunk.

The red cannon barrels will detach from the boat and float to the top. Same with plank and banana barrel.

Basically these recourse barrels do not switch or refill.

If a player ship sinks and t had 100 banana in one barrel, only that one floats.

Give it a fairly long timer as well.

Being that the red cannonbarrels are only on a ship, they never respawn extra supplies. Do this for planks and banana.

Some players - like myself- hold a ship hostage an extra minute or two for resupply purposes. Being that supplies are within a centralized location.

Being that you can make 20/10/10 supply per spawn. That’s two runs from your boat to theirs. Compared to that 30 minute resupply at a fort or outpost, to get bottle or 3 bananas, 1 banana. 2 plank ect.

It should reduce the “extra: delayed resupply” though to some it may be considered toxic, but to me it’s tactical being that I’m now extra prepared for the next .

I’d suggest removing cursed cannonballs, “they got destroyed for hitting the water” since you can pre board and pull all of them.

Being that it’s implied you’ll be getting fish, I’d assume it’s going into barrels, which should float as well.

It provides easy resupply and quite possibly reduce “some” of the spawn camp claims.

  • The only issue I have with this is it would really enable one ship to steamroll their way through a server since taking out other players is just an easy resupply for their ship. I think sunk ships should spawn something though.

  • I don’t see the issue.

Ships typically steam roll others that aren’t paying attention.

Weather it’s ram at island and board party, or keg it.

I was just implying that it could be a good idea that ship barrels spawn with what they had.

It’s an alternative to “ I know I can beat you, let me fill up your supplies into your rowboat. I’ll just bucket a few times to keep the ‘painic’ of trying to repair your ship.

I’ve been a culprit of this,

    Here is a counter argument.

How excited would you be to spawn in at an outpost and find ship barrels spread out around your ship?
Being that I’ve spawned in and found gunpowder or a possible rowboat at outposts.

Yes, you should be able to claim the ships resources after sinking them I agree. How many times have you sunk a ship and got nothing out of it? Too many for me in my experience.

What I find myself doing is spawn killing players in order to gather all their resources which to me feels like griefing them. I unfortunately still do this because the developers for some reason don't let resource barrels float to the top as your reward for sinking another player.

I disagree, you should not be able to, and yours is a necro and the thread is old.
