Kraken an Megalodon Rework

  • I believe that if the rare one could reformulate the monsters of this game before the update would be really good for the game.

-KRAKEN The lack of a body for kraken is something that bothered me on launch day. I miss a creature that scares to find, the current kraken in the game does not impress by its size nor fun to fight, in my opinion kraken is more for worms that live in the ocean than for giant octopus.

MEGALODON The megalodon is worse than kraken, it basically only has one stroke and all the differences "races" are completely equal only by changing the color. each one should have different characteristics:
.Poison the crew, spawn skeletons or sharks in the water, to summarize, cause effects that differentiate each one of them.
    Suggestions for megalodon attack:
-Hit the bottom of the ship by breaking the hull and throwing the players up(relying on white sharks attack use)
    -Bite and shake the ship
-hit the tail on the ship
-Grab the ship and throw it against the rocks.
-Make some noise that spawns creatures to attack us(only some races would do that)

****Level of aggressiveness and conditions for the appearance of creatures are also important. Something that bothers me about the monsters of sea of thieves is that they do not behave like animals, they should flee when they are injured, live in a habitat (some defined part of the map), do not spawn repetitively so as not to tire the players.

  • the current kraken in the game does not impress by its size nor fun to fight

Subjective, lost count on how many times friends got spooked solid by the kraken's size and sound design.

Regardless of bad arguments, the core of the idea is correct, the megalodon fight hasn't changed besided getting a new paintjob and the kraken still has no body.

All Megalodons behave exatcly the same, they attack the ship in the exact same way and take damage the exact same way. Your ideas are really weird but it's a start, summoning creatures to help the fight the rarer the megalodon could be interesting, as well as a variation on how each megalodon attacks, perhaps using tail slaps like you mentioned, fin strikes and even ancient weird SoT magic.

The kraken fight is nearly complete, but there are two problems, firstly is that there is no satisfying conclusion, you take out a tentacle and sometimes you don't even know if the fight ended until the ink goes away from under the ship, unlike the megalodon that gets an orchestral hit and a death animation which is incredibly satifying. Perhaps the kraken isn't supposed to be killed because lorewise it's the last one or whatever, but that is just flavour trying to place logic in a videogame where gameplay is more important. The second problem is the loot, I don't feel confident in going after the loot that is harphardezly spread around the ship during the encounter, it's so much easy getting loot from the meg/skelleton ship since it spawns in the very end and all in one place why does the kraken spawn everything eveywhere is so silly. Both problems are solved with the addition of the kraken's body, perhaps not at the start of the fight, but at a certain point where you already damaged several tentacles, the crowlike head rises from the sea perhpas with a new attack affecting every ship in the ink; after killing the head, it drops all the loot, making it easy and straightfoward.

  • The Kraken as it is is not believable as one creature, it's as the OP said, just a bunch of disjointed worms.

I think the fear from this encounter would be moreso if the tentacles were in a closer circle around the ship.

And the body that everyone wants, of course. It would only rear its head at the end of the battle but it does more damage takes more damage so it would be like the final phase of the fight.

The "sucking" action should be removed too. The bad animation of a player getting sucked into the arm is just jarring. Make the animation similar to the strike but make it a quick grab. Tentacle rears up, swing and player is wrapped. Sure it's harder to avoid, but way better immersion. The tighter arms around the ship would make for a more menacing view but also make the arms a bit easier to hit to balance out the fight a bit more.

For the Kraken "death" it would have a similar animation to when you defeat a single arm, but there is an orchestra hit and they all do that same retract at once. it would be much better then the current "ink dries up" method.
