Why make the Kraken wrap around the stairs where you CANT REPAIR OR BAIL WATER ? You are just going to sink what do you mean
THE KRAKEN IS STUPID ON A GALLEON
Come on, just learn how to play the game... This thread has been made so much time.
It's a KRAKEN ! A legendary monster, known to sink A LOT of ship. Right now, this monster is WAYYYYY TOO EASY ! So stop complaining about that, just as players complaining about the fact the Kraken doesn't drop any loot. In other games, AIs don't drop loot everytime, and survive to the Kraken should already be considered as a reward !
At this moment, the Kraken is impressive because it's huge and has awesome roars. But in term of gameplay, it's one of the easiest enemy... Now take your cannon, shout the head of the tentacle wrapped aroung the ship, and make it go back in the water !
@gambinluke Yes, since April 1st 2017... And the Kraken is way too easy and should sink 4/5 times the ships it attacks. When it has been presented by Rare, they said it would be a dangerous creature that need several crews to take down. Currently, you can beat it in 3 to 5 min...
If you're not sinking because it block the entrance of the stairs, then you're sinking just because you don't have enough wood. The Kraken is dumb and need a MASSIVE buff.
@grievous32
Once again i am not really not saying the kraken is hard to kill i killed enough krakens trust me.Get this scenario ok ?
I just did a fleet we wasted ALL the cannonballs and wood because we just spawned looted a fort and went straight for it. We got the loot and the moment we left the area.. Boom a kraken spawned. We have middle deck wrecked and 10 cannonballs, 20 wood. The kraken instantly wraps the stairs... and we are done.
Tell me, just tell me how am i going to survive in that scenario. Like why did it even spawn on us where we saw like 2 other ships just sailing.
@gambinluke Then you made a mistake...
If you don't have ressources but you're at a fort, then you just had to refill your ship. There's enough barrels on Skeleton Fort to regain planks and cannonballs to fight against a Kraken and sail away from him.
You just need 2 or 3 cannonballs to make the Kraken unwrap the ship... If EVERYBODY were downstair, then your crew made a mistake, it's not because of a bad mechanic, it's your mistake.
@gambinluke The minute you get the ink and music, anchor turn to do a 180, raise the anchor, and sail out. If you get wrapped aim for the shorter tentacle head near the boat - that’s the one wrapping you. Get it to go down twice - usually once per side, and it will let ya go.
If done right, you can get out of the ink without having to fire too many shots and with few repairs necessary.
@grievous32 If they increase the timer for Skelly Fleet battles, that might make sense, but sometimes the only way to get there before it disappears is to rush. This is a flaw in the game.
And, given that they spawned at a fort, my guess is that they did restock... and then did a Skelly Fleet battle which takes resources.
@gambinluke Hello matey. I get your frustration, but it's actually very easy to overcome the stairs being wrapped on any of the ship types.
Next time it wraps you (on any part of the ship) take a look immediately to the left or right of the ship. The end of the tentacle wrapping you will rise up from the water and growl at you, and it's always within the arch of your cannons. A couple of shots will make it dip back below the water. At this point the tentacle will either unwrap your ship or the end will reappear to the side. Keep hitting it and it will eventually let your ship go.
So long as your crew has kept on top of repairing and bailing before hand (these should always be prioritised) then you'll always have enough time to get unwrapped before too much damage is done to you.
Also, forget attacking the main part of the tentacle (the part that's wrapped you) as that tends to have no effect on forcing it off your ship.
Hope this helps. It's really just about learning to overcome mechanics!
@entspeak It's a risky way to play, they took the risk, they paid the price. In my opinion, even with 50 planks, a Kraken should be able to wreck your ship. As I said, it's a legendary creature that destroyed a lot of ships. I would be curious to see how many ships the Kraken just sink since the launch...
