I and many of my friend think the brigantine is a huge letdown in this game in term of player vs player. The brigantine is too easy to sink, too hard to defend with one deck less compared to the other ships, wich makes it not viable.
You should rethink the design of the brig, even if the current brig is quite correct historywise but maybe with a model more close to the one Shoothere4exp designed...
That would give this ship more room to fight, more survivability than it actually has just with more verticality to put it on the same level as the other ships as this boat feels really under the weather.
Redesign the Brigantine
@aelohime completely agree mate, it needs a work over. The only tiny suggestion that there are two levels, is that little incline where the bed is. Definitely needs changing.
It’s actually nothing like how Brigatines were in the era. If they followed the patterns from history, the problem you’re raising would be fixed.
@mister-meriin It needs to be slower into the wind(Or the sloop needs to be faster), that's all the changes I want for it.
@william-flint It actually won't, the waves will slow down the sloop enough for the Brigantine for catch up after a while.
So if you are in a sloop, and a Brigantine decides to attack you, you are not going to get away unless the Brigantine Crew messes up or gets attacked by NPCs to shift their focus away from you.So yeah, I think the Brigantine needs to be slower into the wind, or the Sloop needs to be ever so slightly faster.
@galactic-geek From what I know of how waves work, then yes, waves should move the way the wind blows. But that doesn't seem to be the case in Sea of Thieves.
Why doesn't it work that way? Probably hard to code or magic is doing it =P
But when the Sloop smashes into a wave, it slows the sloop down a lot(Granted the Brigantine slows down too), but because the Brigantine accelerates faster than the sloop, it will eventually catch up. Which leaves the sloop as unable to get away.
