After talking to a couple people, and moderators respectfully, I propose for the forums a lore based forum. I also do not know how much space we have for characters, so I am trying to be as succinct as possible.
This came as an early idea of mine because we spend numerous amount of time to get to Pirate legend and beyond. What has also happened is that the game has brought us backstories and lore to the game that, for some, discuss in their circles, while others focus on the grind. We know there are paintings and sculptures and all that which give perspective to the game, but I feel we should collectively put this information in one place.
The organization for this proposed lore channel would be three fold: In game Lore, Expanded lore, and Theories of what is to come.
For Ingame: This involves discussion of the lore on the islands and what has been integrated into the game: Including all updates as they get added (Forsaken Shores, Merrick, etc). Discussion here would be directed at this aspect of lore only. To better understand this, suggestions of voyages, and putting up images of the paintings and all that on this page will help gauge discussion.
For the expanded universe: Discussion would be drawn towards the books, both novels and comics, about the lore of the game on this level. Discussion will be able to elucidate the roles and placement of characters that have been introduced to the game (Pirate Lord, Stitcher Jim, etc). The end purpose would be for the players to better understand the roles of these characters, and also give new perspectives of our own about them.
The third group, theories, is what will be the most interesting: This aspect will drive future questions about what we think is to come: CRABS, being at the top of the list. But also to help us think about what we think could be a new direction for the game.
Of course, with this forum, if it does pass muster, it will follow under the disciplinary regulations of the Pirate Code and any other rules that have been put into place.
