Different Types of Forts

  • I have a suggestion about how the forts can be tweaked a little. I suggest there be different types of forts that have different quality/quantity of loot. I'm thinking 3 tiers.

    • Lesser Fort:
Simple fort with only normal skellies with swords.
Loot: Original fort loot. Stronghold Chest, Skull.

    • Plentiful Fort:
The forts that we have now. Different variety of skellies/weapons
Loot: Stronghold Chest, Skull, Gunpowder Barrel, Bone Dust

    • Legendary Fort
Island protected by ghost ships as well as island cannons
An intense fort that will take land, and sea combat
Loot: Double Stronghold Chest, Gunpowder Barrel, Skull, Bone Dust
or, Normal stronghold loot with a Legendary Stronghold Chest that gives you Athena rep

The lesser fort will be a desirable place for new, inexperienced players. While there is nothing stopping more experienced players from taking advantage of this that's a part of the lesson. Forts can be a a breeding ground for pirates to steal your loot.
Plentiful forts can stay the same as they are. A little challenging yet rewarding.
Legendary forts can attract all players from all over the open seas to come and take its legendary loot. Essentially it would be as forts were back when the game first came out. A must-go destination where it would be worth the fighting with other players. Also a legendary stronghold chest could mix it up a little for legends to earn Athena rep.

Now this is in no way flawless, and I'm sure some problems would be found, or taken advantage of, but I believe this would make forts more exciting again, and a place that makes you always on the look out for other players.

  • @lldeadcenterll I'd love there was different types of Forts, but I'm thinking only 2...

    • Regular Forts
    • Skeleton Lord's Forts
  • @lldeadcenterll I think this should be done eventually, but I think forts need to be made into a much more polished and engaging challenge first. Hacking waves and waves of dumb AF skeletons is by no means an epic task. PvP is the only thing that makes fort interesting, but at the same time ruins it's potential.

  • @nunoazuldimeter After I posted it I thought about for a little bit, and I agree 3 forts might be a bit much. The current forts aren't too challenging to the point where we would need one for beginners. Also Skeleton Lord does sound pretty awesome.

  • @betsill A little variety would be nice to change it up a little bit. I'm just not sure as to how they would go about it. I like the idea of adding ghost ships to guard it for the legendary ones, but that's all I could really come up with.

  • @lldeadcenterll
I do wish for the day I'd be able to fight Ctp. Flameheart, or The Gold Hoarder!!!

  • @lldeadcenterll If I was designing it I would:

    1. Scrap the wave mechanic, it's lazy and make no sense. Have all the skeletons be out manning cannons, defending objectives, supporting, etc.
    2. Make Ai not so stupid and give skeletons roles rather than just being mindless attack bots with zero nuance.
    3. Give forts some kind of puzzle/objective to access a main boss/area where the key is located. Something like door keys, magic totems, destructible doors, etc that players would need to interact with and would give them something to achieve outside of mindlessly swinging their sword.
    4. No gun skeletons. They suck and just plain don't work in this game. Give them weapons that can be dodged instead.

Most of the forts problems really have to do with SoT horrendous PvE enemies. If skeletons weren't so lazily and horribly designed forts as well as all other PvE content in the game would be much much better.

  • @lldeadcenterll I like your ideas mate
