@jojoeee I haven't seen anything about him quitting the game. Not that I would at all blame him because this game is very painful to play and watch right now.
Ok, sooo you are calling one of the top 100 shooters in the world bad? Wow...just wow. Then to top it off, you guys don't even consider how terrible the hit detection is, and the horrible ping issues.
Then the Oh well they don't know the game, they just made it to PL maxed Athenas, and actually stole their athenas to get their titles instead of doing alliance trades, get out of here with that nonsense, as if this is some hard game to get a grip on, this game has absolutely no complexity to it at all. You grind, get nerfed for actually pvping, and come in here to see the entire care bear system disagree with any logic associated behind bad moves on mechanical parts. No doubt in my mind that if they fixed the hit detection, roll back the gun delay, and kept the random hip shot like it is now, you'd still be getting owned by people who are better than you at shooting.
Acting like there is some complex math to this..get out here with that trash

He quit. You can check his final sot stream where he loses all enjoyment and kind of depressed about it. He was also a bit unsure about what he was going to do next.

The sword will be nerfed and double gun adjusted a bit in the future, want the sword snowflakes or not.
Summit needs to put his big boy pants up and learn to quickscope, i have been wiping the floor like i always did, and i still doublegun fulltime, sure we could use some tweaks like removing the animation after sprinting and giving sword buttonmashers a slow while they swing, but i still clap every single M1/RT spammer i come across.
@jojoeee Last SoT stream I saw he said he would be on again to pace, but w/e. Even if he does quit for now Rare just needs to fix their game and him leaving might put pressure on them to do so(whether they are capable of fixing it is another thing lol). Pace has a good following now, so I don't think SoT will die on twitch for at least a little bit.

Not sure which one you watched last, also not sure if he may have said to continue playing with pace, but he lost all enjoyment in the last stream. He stated many reasons like getting bored and being burned out off of it, but before that he was also ranting a lot about the state of the game so there's a context to it. When a game feels good to play you're obviously going to enjoy it more. Summit being more combat driven where combat doesnt feel tight anymore pretty much makes sense of his decision

He definitly overreacted about the crossplay thing, and he admitted that later on. All his other issues are legit imo
Whether or not summit has complained about it is neither here nor there. Everyone needs to take off the rose coloured glasses and admit that the combat changes they made have been terrible.
The heavy handed knee jerk reaction to double gunning (which I hated and I'm glad is gone) was poorly implemented. The constant gun animations, sword issues with stun lock and hitting the floor counting as a hit (yes I know this was present before) and on top of this the hit detection seems to be worse than ever.
People who think that 'Arena' will be some kind of new e-sport mode need to wake up, until these basic combat issues are fixed I don't see it taking off beyond the current player base.

And has it to do with the fact it is summit? Or do we go around the forums and check if someone who aint a known streamer says please remove all pvp than we go to say aswell remove all pvp because this one person says it?

Haha if Rare feels pressured just because one lousy streamer quits who cant accept the changes and l2p like the rest heck then im leaving. A whiny streamer should be the last thing on their priority list to behonest.

Most games are dead on Twitch, so that's not really a big deal. As for the domino effect, the key word in your quote is potential - maybe, but most likely probably not. As a Pioneer, I have a fairly good idea of what's coming through the shroud, and pirates are going to 🥰 it. Regardless, I definitely know 1 thing for certain - I will still be playing (and no streamer, Summit1G included, will change that).

It is not strange that if you love a game and see its worth, that you wish that it gets the recognition and succes that it deserves. Those last two updates ruined a lot of goodwill with the players. Observing streamers you can just see their attitude having changed since. Two of my favourite streamers quit on the same day. Cdnthe3rd was also a streamer with 10k viewers who was so passionate about the game. Just like you, he was actually defending it till the end. I am very surprised he stopped playing it since 2 days. But I cant blame him. His biggest reason tho was the hit registration, but for the first time he also ranted about the balancing updates. He didn't do that with the first update and took a more patient stance. The second one made him lose faith however.
@betsill no, we filled a server to teach new people all at once.
What some discords do is invite people and show them how to play without people constantly pvping, then at the end of the day we'd have a battle.I've heard alot of people pick up the game only to get done in by some pirate legends and some of us want people to get a good impression on this game.
@betsill It would be exploiting if we filled a whole server EVERYTIME we play, but we don't. Often we pvp against the random galleons on the server and then if a friendly random ship is going offline we'll take the spot to let our friends join.
Sharing experiences with your friends is hardly exploitng.Bashing summit is one thing, but bashing a professional gamer's opinions on the game which really are all valid and all points people on the forum bring up on a daily basis is a little silly. The double gun thing was more about freedom of movement and continuous game play than anything from what u gather from summit. He even mentioned to keep double gun and have no break in action with the sword to enhance freedon of movement on all levels. The funny thing is as a mostly pve player, I agree with the idea of freedom of movement. It just made things easier and more fun and I rarely fight players. The fighting as it stands right now is like a 12 year old hitting puberty. Its really awkward. I think some people dont care because it doesn't make or break the game... they still have a good time with friends. I do but it is okay to admit the fighting mechanics really arent good. It favors out manning people more than ever before.
IMO, the combat system has not improved since update 1.4.2 and it has only been degraded.
Yes, everyone was complaining about the double-gunning and I do feel it needed to be addressed. However, they have broken the sword combat so badly that it has become very frustrating during sword combat. No matter what type of battle, fighting other players or just simply fighting skellies. Try fighting a hoard of skellies and discover how fun the cool down is when you miss a swing.
My suggestion to Rare would be to roll back to 1.4.2 weapon systems and fix or add the following in regards to weapon mechanics:
- Add animation delay to double gun
- Fix the sword block, which was broken in 1.4.2 but was never mentioned.
As far as hit reg issues, this will always be an issue as it is dependent on client connections and server performance. Other popular games have these same issues, it is just less noticeable due to the fact that the weapons are not single fire weapons. It is much less noticeable when you are firing a semi-auto weapon as opposed to a single fire weapon.

It's called entertainment your TV doesn't justify this statement very much, he is a paid personality. How did he try to ruin it for anyone? A lot of people without a streamer think the new mechanic are garbage. You expect people who sit and played all these years of war games and pvp heavy games (which is most of the entire gaming community) to sit here and be like Oh, yay great idea, let's take time to stop, wait on animations, then I can aim my gun? The double gun problem was fixed when they added the random hip fire, the other stuff is just trash

That's the problem right there, there shouldn't be a right moment, there should be a play style.

They changed it because they felt that it was too easy to run away from when faced up against a double-gunner....
Ok ok... this is getting too much... here'se the truth... Rare does not exist, this game was actually manufactured by Summit.... it is a conspiracy, Summit put this game in place to test you all... he then tempted you with sins, such as easy wins through double gunning and deceit such as hiding behind the captains chair... He tempted you with these expoits whilst you were vulnerable in order to test your faith!... like jesus in the desert!.... on the day of judgement you will know you are worthy of a place at the right hand of the father if you resisted this wickedness... if not repent for summit is merciful! Praise be to 1g......
