Do not share data-mined information as the post will be removed and a warning issued. Ignoring the warning will result in a permanent ban.Maybe there could be a few more cosmetics, but there's what I consider a decent amount of them
Excluding Bilge Rat Adventures, promotions, Athena and Pirate legends, here's some of the cosmetic categories: 16 Jackets, 14 Shirts, 19 Belts, 15 Sails and 5 Sailor Sails.
Granted, a few of those cosmetics are just colour reskins ( the sailor sails for instance), but I feel that's is still a decent selection.

This game is heavy focused on cosmetics and that's why there is nothing else but cosmetics, 60 overall isn't enough, or at least what they have, isn't enough, hardly any of it stands out which is personally what I would like from cosmetics

That's not what I want, and I don't think what Rare wants. There are recolors in the game now, but used sparingly.
I don't think players want generic recolored items... but rather unique bespoke sets.
Besides, I think there are TONS of cosmetics and I would nearly bet a paycheck that no one who replied in this thread has collected all of them :) There's plenty of variety to collect already.

So then you don't want recolors after all?
In a game that i solely based on getting gold so you can buy cosmetics, it it really a joke that so little have been added.
And it was forever since we got a lot added at once. The most new cosmetics we get now, we have to buy from Duke. So all the gold i have is pretty much useless. Have every item in the game, and i even took a looong break after hitting Athena 10 in july. So there must be a lot of people in the same situation as me.
And im pretty tired of seeing the same 4-5 hulls every time and 90% of the players run around with out a shirt and black pants.
And for a game, where you only can get cosmetics its about time we get a lot more, how long is it since they added a lot? 6-7 months or more? And its not like they have added so much since, only 2-3 sets when the DR came and some Bilge Rat sets.@lethality1 said in Where are all the cosmetics????:

Then you would lose that bet.
The last set of clothing that was added came out with the devils roar. That was back in September. Before that it was the hunter with cursed sails and before that the 6 sets that came shortly after launch (I'm excluding duke sets as new players can't get those).If you told me we would get 4 sets in about 10 months, I would have called you crazy.
That alone would have been bad, but they have possibly dozens of simple cosmetics stored away. I'm not talking about some of the fancy jackets on display in the shops but pretty basic stuff like random boots. Look at any promotional image, ingame shop or cargo npcs/sea post npcs and you will find cosmetics unavailable to players.
As for color variants, I would buy them in a heartbeat(minus the time it takes them to count my coins). Better yet, they could let me choose the color. I like to mix my clothing and not everything looks good together with the current color options. Nor does all clothing work on all body types( my character gets a runny ghost eye patch).

Rare is not a big studio and cannot spend time on aspects of the game it considers redundant i.e. placating an existing player base. Instead, what little resources they direct to the game are focused on attracting new players (customers).
I rather have more cosmetics instead of short one time content (looking at you, skeleton thrones).
Why not provide a new vendor for micro-transactions and include transactions such as currency (Pieces of Eight) to buy pets, clothing, weapons, equipment and shipwright items.

I agree. I expected a lot more cosmetics to come by now. I thought cosmetics would be part of the monthly updates, but I guess that was only the first month, and every other month is a new time limited set? The cosmetics we have are mostly reskins of each-other, and everyone wears the same set.
To make things worse is Legends only get 2 sets to choose from. The one you get standard, and one to unlock. That's it! How underwhelming. Legendary cosmetics should make up a solid 10% of the options. We don't even have legendary weapons!I spent $60 and a thousand hours in SoT and all I got was a Figurehead and Hat. Pathetic!
I'm starting to get the bitter feeling that this is all the cosmetics we'll be getting for free ($60) and all the ones next will be behind a paywall. YAY! Thanks rEAr.

There is a reason in IRL there are countless numbers of clothing stores. We, as individuals, have varying tastes and preferences. The want to stand out as a unique individual is something that drives many industries. At the very least, Pirate Legends deserve some more options. These are the players that have invested the most time, and likely have the most love for the game; these are the players that will bring in NEW players. Sales industries understand the life time value of their clients. I hope RARE does as well.

Completing commendations should reward a specific item. So a player can show of multiple accomplishments with their outfit instead of just one title above their head.
Even make cosmetic sets that fit each region on the map and that are connected to the largest islands. No one goes to plunder valley. So make a washed up bottle or parchment give you a riddle that leads to a small chest or dead pirate and you loot one cosmetic. Have a random chance of a key drop from skeletons you fight and it unlocks a prison cell that’s deep within the islands.
This would give the game a more adventurous feel and a sense of accomplishment.
I know most companies don't really hire "ideas guys" anymore, but Rare really needs to put you on the payroll.

Burnout Paradise has/had 75 cars...and that's more than enough...I don't need, like in Gran Turismo about 700 cars, 600 are just useless there

@ducklol1337 The biggest issue in my mind is instead of having a larger pool of cosmetics at a higher level its narrow. Legends should have a large variety instead if you want to wear what you earned all legends look the same. The cosmetics currently are set up like a triangle. Everyone is going to a point which is boring, the triangle should be upside down allowing for more cosmetics the higher rank you get. I dislike the current ghost jacket, why arent there other ghost jacket options. Hope much more is added in the mega update.

@starquest I wear the white shirt with black and red waist coat :P And ghost legs hands boots, legend belt. No eye patch no hair dyes no obnoxious tattoos no pegleg and no hook :P I like my style but I wish more vibrant colour variations were available that stood out, more purple stuff for sure
