I've placed two tickets now, both times I was linked the same troubleshooting guide and followed the steps several times over.
I've reinstalled the game three times now and still nothing.
This has been going on for over a week.
Someone.. please?
Are you playing on Xbox or PC?
Edit: Sorry I saw in the topic title that you mentioned PC, so please disregard the above. Have you been able to test whether it is not working with your own crew or just not with other crews. The reason I say this is because I encountered issues with voice issues with two other crews last night where they did not seem able to hear my crew mate and I. There were other crews though that everything was working fine with, and my crew mate and I could hear one another fine. Not sure what is going on there.
If it is not working for everyone, there could be several reasons. First check that Windows hasn't decided to disable your mic for SOT, this can be changed in the App Permissions in Windows Settings (from memory it should be turned on for both SOT and XBox).
If that isn't the problem, one other solution to voice not working is to delete your soundcard from Windows. This was an uninstall of the device (including requesting Windows to delete the drivers) and reinstalling the device. This has previously fixed this issue for one of my friends after we had tried everything else.
@Krrundle
Can I assume you are PC? First, I would make sure your mic is setup as the default choice in the Xbox App. Second, are you getting Telnedo error thing?
I am unable to hear or be heard.
Things i've tested:
Windows default output and input set properly
Xbox output and input set properly. I've tried countless variations from default, to headset, to webcam, etc.
Ensured privacy settings were set properly as per the support website troubleshooter. (the thing their CS auto macro-responds with)
Ensured drivers are up-to-date
Went to windows apps & features and "reset" Sea of Thieves.
Unplugged and plugged back in my microphone.
Ensured xbox account, online, and privacy settings allowed for online com munication.
Reinstalled the game three times.
I've ran through these steps and more over a dozen times over the last week or so. I had a ticket in, like I said, but they never got back to me.
@krrundle Given what you have tried you should remove the device from Windows, including deleting all drivers, then reinstall the device. Please note that if you are using a USB microphone, simply unplugging the device and plugging it back in is not the same thing.
Don't ask me why the above works, one of the wizards at Microsoft (snigger) would have to explain the vagaries of their OS, but it should. By doing this you should be restoring the device back to its original state.
Another way of achieving the same thing is to do a clean reinstall of Windows.
@salvasian-au - If that were the case, wouldn't other apps be having issues talking to the device? I'm not having any issues with anything else.
In either case, i'll give it a go and report back when I get a chance.
Thanks for the help thus far.
