How about forming an alliance with a skeleton ship.

  • Imagine seeing a Galleon coming at you with 1 or more skeleton ships beside it all flying the same alliance flag .. he he.. I know I know.. but.. it would be cool... Maybe offer them some captain's skulls as payment.. would be cool.

  • @ram2k14 new kind of PvEvP...

  • I like this idea, I have always wanted to see a friendly faction of skeletons....that you could still kill of course. But would be a humorous addition. Think of salty the parrot, some others who retain their minds even after being taken by the curse.

  • I actually think that this could be the answer to those solo sloopers out there complaining about getting jumped by a brig or galleon. By completing a task as required by the skeleton king or whatever, you receive a gold coin, Aztec perhaps, that can be stored on your toon wheel. Should you need backup in a sea battle against another player, skelly ship or maybe even a kraken, you use the coin to summon a skeleton ship to assist you. But...once that coin is used, it’s gone until you complete another achievement to get another. I like it!

    Fair winds and following seas!

  • @pir8life4meva What if a galleon or brig decides to use it too though? :P

  • @bloodybil yeah, that’s a nightmare situation but...if you have a coin on you, now you’ve got four ships in a sea battle! That would be sweet!! You would have to have an identifier on the skeleton ships of course but, it opens up so many possibilities.

A sloop could take cover behind their allied skellies or attempt a getaway. You could get cannonballs from them or assist in their repairs. Just some ideas.
    ;)

  • @ram2k14 this would be so cool wonder if this could work

  • I could see some twist on this, like a temporary "curse". You're ship and crew (upon majority vote) would willingly accept a curse. Under which you would first spawn upon a skeleton galleon as skeletal/ghostly visages of your character. You would fight along side them to take down crews, but you would not be able to steal their treasure (or rather the treasure would be added to the Skeleton crew's haul). Upon serving your time, the galleon or sloop would "become" yours for a given time. With such you could point the ship where to go and the skeleton crew would sail it there, operating cannons, etc. One the time is up, they would set you adrift in a rowboat or on your original vessel at the nearest (unoccupied) outpost with any left over goodies you picked up. Could even have the Ferry Man make comments about how it is dangerous to be so willing to sell yourself into servitude in the pursuit of power before sending you along (if you died while serving).

  • @sargent-sully Love the curse idea, I think that could have been a cool twist for the reaper's mark.

Imagine if there is a quest you have accomplish to gain the curse, then you become the captain(s) of the damned, you have a skeleton fleet to your command, can't step on land, have reaper mark, and drop loot on death! Sinking enough ships while being damned contributes to a commendation for skeleton ships cosmetics or something. Maybe instead of dropping loot, the crew that kills you gets the curse in a "there always must be a captain of the damned" way.
