The event was ship livery and 50 dubs. people complaining just because new players got a single thing more then them. like we weren't rewarded at all with 3 friend codes that gave our friends the set in the first place.
yes it's a neat set, yes it's limited, but it's like why are people acting like we didn't just get all this other event stuff?
The event was awesome, i really enjoyed pulling my friends into sea of thieves, the 35% off was a nice touch for the end of the event, it helped me pull my friends into the game who were deterred by the daunting 60dollar price tag for a game with shoddy reviews from the rocky launch.
im not really bothered by the lack of notification about the set being available as a reward on codes, it by design wasn't suppose to be claimable by those that already owned the game, people complaining about not knowing to make sure they could use something unintended is alittle silly.
it would have been nice to see more commendations for the merc voyage, like a bonus for hosting the voyage, or a bonus for something like time spent sailing on a merc voyage or completing bottle missions while on a merc voyage, it was like, there wasn't really a reason to do more then one merc voyage for the first time 50 coins being they costed dubs in the first place, bringing a new voyage type that people will only use to show new players the rope like once isn't a good voyage, no one is going to be grabbing these over other dub items.
i do understand the agitation with people wanting something for basically doing the legwork on recruiting, most games with a recruit-a-friend program reward both the recruiter and the recruited. the recruited in this case for a limited set/free week/35% off the game. recruiters are just asking for something for themselves, i feel like asking for a set or complaining about not having knowledge to claim a code they shouldn't have been able to claim is alittle silly, but it might have been nice to get something for every code we had buy the game.
