I do kind want to see and have archery to be another weapon choice. I don’t know if someone has already made the suggestion, was created during the time period of this game’s setting, or is it a little more of a liability to handle than a unique weapon of choice. But I want to be optimistic, I would like to see archery, Bow and Arrow as a weapon of choice.
Archery
@prorapidkiller
Aye.... if it be good enough for Robin Hood.
Wouldn't mind a few "flaming" arrows myself.

Might be on the plans down the road.... however... equally I wouldn't be surprised if we never saw them.
Fingers crossed.Yeah no, hard pass. Unless it's some sort of contraption on a ship that you can use to shoot at another ship and reel it in for boarding.
Other than that, it would be the least popular weapon hands downI would much prefer a musket with a bayonet attached to the end where you can do a lunge attack with it
@prorapidkiller
The issue I do see.
Is the visible damage... currently wounding a fellow pirate shows no visible signs.
Having an arrow sticking out of the middle of your head, although maybe visually funny to look at in the context of the game. Might be a little too close to life.That might be part of the problem, how it would cause damage without looking it caused damage.
Reminds me of this... a bit of an overkill. I'm sure he's okay:)
American Gods- Arrow Scene@r3d50v13t Speaking about the Musket, someone in the forums mentioned that to me when I made a post about Muskets and said that the closest to one is the Eye-of-Reach, and it will be somewhat similar to the damage, loading time. With a bayonet, that would be a good addition to an eye-of-reach.
@piratecraggy I mean look at Minecraft, it’s kind of funny to have multiple arrows all around you. We can have it to where it will simply disappear once it makes contact and damages the player. I don’t know what do you think?
@prorapidkiller
Yeah.. I think that's the only way, they would need to stick in... then de-spawn over time.
A good reason to have them in game is the "porcupine" look you would have of multiple arrows... could look pretty funny.Rather than a damage effect (ie. 2 arrows your dead)
Maybe with each arrow you loose a little health, but it slows you down for awhile (similar in a way to the limp effect).It has possibilities... maybe.
@piratecraggy I like the more arrows the slower you will be as your health is going away little by little, but with the porcupine, do you think it will make one a big target for incoming players enemies when they come to attack? Because think about it, they come on your boat and possibly the first thing they will see is a person with twenty arrows running around 😅. But I do like the idea where they will despawn over a short period of time.
@prorapidkiller
Lol... a guy rounding around with 20 arrows in him would make me think twice :)
Other thoughts/uses
- To set fire to things
- A type of Signal Flare (Lit)
- A way of putting a "grappling line" down for climbing
- A way of putting a "zip line" down for boarding
- Method of fishing (Fishing will come at some stage)
