@m4carbine666 Each vendor has two exclusive items (such as the spyglass and pocket watch for the Merchant Alliance). With every 5 ranks one or the other will upgrade and be available to buy.
Essentially they just look at little nicer until you reach rank 50 and they'll be at their final complete look. It's merely a way to show off how you're progressing with each vendor.
