I know it would take some work on the Dev's side but I wish that you could just swap ships at the outpost. Say you and a buddy are on a sloop doing some missions 1 or 2 more friends sign on and want to play, it would be nice to be able to go to the outpost, talk to the shipwright and choose to change to a brig or galleon or vice-versa.

@jwack22 You are so right. This is something that I discuss often with my fellow pirates. Even if you lose everything on your boat at least you don't have to go through the loading again!
@jwack22 This is something that has been brought up in the past. There are many upsides to it. If I remember correctly, during one of the early live streams someone asked this question, and It was either Joe Neate or someone else on the stream that said it was more of a technical issue and something that would be impossible to implement. That being said, they are changing the file size in a week, who knows what doors that will open.
I for one know I have been in the middle of an athena run and had someone ask to join or leave my boat and a boat swap would have been great.
@nofears-fun I know it would definitely take some work on the Devs side but if being able to switch ships is not an option then let us have 4 people on a sloop. I honestly wish they would add at least 1 more slot per boat. If Galleon's can attack a sloop and have a 4v1/2 then why not let us have the option to have 4 people on a sloop. I would not expect them to change anything on a sloop as far as cannons/capstan handles or anything else but at least it would be more of an even fight against a 3 or 4 man crew.

This is something a lot of people want. I am sure it will come. The devs hav acknowledged that they know many of us pirates think this would be a big quality of life change. It is a matter of time. They are working on a lot of things while currently trying to put out some be fires set in the community.
Will be nice to dock at an outpost and go up to the shipwright and request a different ship. The old one would be scuttled or we would scuttle it first. The selecting the ship we want from the shipwright will spawn in.
One thing they have definitely confirmed will be coming is the ability to join the same server with your friends on the same ship. The two will make the game so much more accessible to family and friends. Another option that would work well with both would be ability to swap out and change crew members along the way.

Definitely an upvote for this which a ton of players new and old have wanted. I asked the question during the stream before last and actually got the answer they were working on a way to allow friends to join onto the same server. But it wasn't immediate which is a sad thing considering it has been requested as much. I'd also like to see the small ship in the captains quarters reflect the current setup or look of your ship. Think it would be a nice addition since they do not really want people to have the ability to change the ships appearance thru that model.
