How to join the pioneer program?

    I'm gonna keep this post short and sweet, if I wanted to join the pioneer program how would I go about it? Is there a way to sign up, do you just have to express interest and get lucky or are there very few new people being added to the pioneer program nowadays?

    Edit: My bad for posting this in the feedback section, force of habit; this is where I usually come when I browse the forums.

    @oceanmann7 you can not join the pioneer program. There is a bit of an unknown process. You get selected.
    Kind of like the MIB.

    As stated in the Pioneer FAQ, only Rare can choose who to invite in the Pioneer Programme at the moment:

    Who are the Pioneers?
    The Sea of Thieves Pioneers are a select group of players who receive special previews of upcoming features and improvements to the game. Invites cannot be requested and are non-transferable.

    Will you be inviting new Pioneers?
    Yes! We are always on the look out for more dedicated players to invite to the programme.

    Here's how it's working:

    • You ask to be part of the Insider Programme,
    • According to their own criteria, Rare invites you to be part of the Pioneer Programme,
    • You accept the invitation on your forum account: https://www.seaofthieves.com/account. Always good to check from time to time there as sometimes their emails are quite broken.
    • From there you have access to the Pioneer forums. Then, to download the Pioneer Client you have to download the Xbox Insider Hub App first and you have to go to the Sea of Thieves section in it to check your eligibility.

    However, according to Rare, changes might be made in the coming times to allow people to join this program more easily, so stay tuned!

    Currently there is no sure way to join the Pioneer Program. Pioneers are selected by Rare through a process only they are aware of. Signing up for the Insider Program helps convey your interest, so you're off to a good start. Here's a brief look at the Pioneer Program FAQ:

    Who are the Pioneers?
    The Sea of Thieves Pioneers are a select group of players who receive special previews of upcoming features and improvements to the game. Invites cannot be requested and are non-transferable.

    Rare has discussed in the past their intentions to make joining the Pioneer Program a bit easier, however they have not specifically said how they'll go about making it easier for players to join the program. For more information take a look at the FAQ.
