Performance Issues?

Hello guys, i played a lot of sea of thieves last year, until around half of december 2018, then i went holiday for 1 month, i came back few days ago, i patched the game and went to play again, but since i came back to play the game im getting freezes , really bad FPS and stuttering all over the place. Did my laptop become dumb in the last month or did the last patch mess up performance?
