Why are ghost ships attacking sloops... Like I ran from it for 20 minutes only to loose a hour and half of looting. You cant outrun them it seems like and they just pummel you with special cannonballs. So annoying and unneeded....
Ghost Ships
@theemrfluff Hey. They attack everyone. Get in there and sink them.
There are a lot of tricks. You can get your sloop up against them and they can't shoot you. Bail onto them to fill them up. Average sink time solo sloop for me is two minutes. The combination or hitting them causing holes and the water bailed onto them is very effective.@daveyjay1984 said in Ghost Ships:

In addition, if you are doing this solo sloop remember that it is essentially hard mode. Get a friend in if you don't feel like you can keep up.
This.
@theemrfluff Ahoy there!
If you're new to the game fighting a skeleton ship can be quite the daunting task, especially if you're playing solo. Over the last few months our fellow pirates have discovered different ways to sink a skeleton ship. Here are just a few quick pointers:
- Gun Powder Barrels! These are you're best friends when fighting a skeleton ship. Try your best to get into a position where you don't need to ram the galleon and jump off your ship onto theirs. As a last resort ram the side of their ship, climb their ladder, run down to the bottom deck, and light the keg! You should have time to get back upstairs and back on your sloop. If not catch a mermaid, damage should be minimal to your ship.
- Use cursed cannonballs. A ton of people underestimate the usefulness of cursed cannonballs. These can be a huge life saver even when fighting other players. Anything that has an effect on their ship (purple cannonballs) will be of some kind of benefit to you.
- Every shot counts! Try your best to stay out of their cannon range and just blast them on all over that side of the ship. Don't just keep firing in one spot. The more holes you make the harder it is for them to repair the damage before they sink!
- If you happen to have a Chest of Sorrows, toss that chest onto the deck of their ship. It'll eventually start crying and fill up their hull with water. Just remember to land a few shots on the galleon before / after you do this so that you get credit for sinking the ship!
- Remember they can't bail water so any water you can get on their ship, no matter how little, is going to help.
Solo slooping is difficult, especially when you're tasked with fighting a Kraken or Skeleton Ship. But it is possible! Don't give up and keep practicing, you'll nail it one day.
@timboagogo Yes we do and I have gotten most of my commendations solo sloop. Every skelly ship count right?
@daveyjay1984
They sure do! I'm about to hit 100/500, still a long way to go but I haven't been doing the fleets as yet and I don't use powder barrels or board the skelly ships. I like to do things the old fashioned way just with cannonballs and sometimes the bucket. :-)@timboagogo Sounds good mate. If you're looking for some good crew, check out MST on the forums here. We're always looking for good people to join. Maybe we can help you getting some of the Cloud crews under your belt. I can't find the thread but you should find it by searching MST. @DISLEX-fx will be able to link it.
