Hey guys, wanted to try out Sea of Thieves with some friends but I am having some trouble. When I press "Play" it instantly crashes and I can't figure out why. I have spent 4 hours trying to get it to launch and am about to just give up. We've all had little problems like this in the past, I am always able to figure them out with some googling. This one is a bit different it seems that I am completely lost at this point.
Notes:
-Trying it through the "Xbox game pass"
-All drivers are current
-Windows is fully updated
-I have windows defender. No other firewall
Some of what I have tried
-Contact MS support, they did remote control and gave up after a while
-Contact Rare support (no response yet)
-Asked Reddit (Never use reddit, but apparently it's filled with trolls idk)
-Fully reinstalled all windows updates
-Reinstalled Video card driver
-Logged into my PC VIA my MS account
-Tried launching through the Xbox app
-Did the Powershell thing
-Made sure I only had the account with the pass logged into the store
-Downloaded a free app
-Messed with my timezone
-Found a ton of threads saying "start this service" none worked
-Tried launching the Xbox app and hit "see in Microsoft store" (people said it worked IDK)
-Shut down my firewall
-Wired internet connection instead of WiFi
-Tried using my second internet (I pay for 2 from different providers, long story)
-Opened up the "Windowsapps" folder, took ownership of it and gave full permissions
I probably missed plenty of things I have tried, sadly I wasted my whole day off and I am VERY happy i didn't fully purchase the game to say the least. My last resort at this point is to uninstall and reinstall tonight.
