Exactly as title says, I was at 12/50 when me and a buddy logged in specifically to hunt Ghost Ships. We sunk about 6 or 7, but when I checked my progression, its still stuck at 12/50. Thought it might just not have updated, but I sunk another 10 minutes ago and still no change. What gives?

Sadly, the 'Scourge of Skeleton Ships' commendation was from the Cursed Sails campaign, and is no longer available. It may work in the fleet battles with the clouds? I am not sure if it was intended to be like his, but the Cursed Sails campaign is a bit weird compared to the rest of the Bilge Rat Adventures and campaigns.
@ultmateragnarok See, I thought that too. But I haven't played since the game launched. Obviously without any skeleton ships period. So it must have been counting towards it since it has some registered. Also, I know it was counting since I was watching my increased after learning about the commendation. They just suddenly stopped counting.
It could be part of that known visual bug where it LOOKS like you're not earning XP and gold, but you really are - the same thing could be happening here, just with your commendations instead. I heard that a quick work-around for that particular bug was to buy something from a shop or company, which would update your stats to the right amount.

Just about every commendation in the game is still available - you may not earn dubloons for some of the older ones, but you can still complete them.

I'm going to assume you have been sinking skeleton ships that spawn randomly at sea? As far as I know the Scourge of the Skeleton Ships is limited to the battles. In which case you have to wait until a cloud pops up and then engage the battle.
