Small Idea’s I’d like to See Added to the Game

  • A sneak mode - Allow our characters to walk around at a 50% slower pace but our names are hidden from enemy crews. This would also lower the noise you make while swimming and getting out of the water. Half the fun of being a pirate is sneaking onto enemy player ships and stealing their loot. Also while in sneak mode mermaids would not spawn near you.

Mini Coconut Bombs - I like the idea of sabotaging an enemy player ship by attaching coconut bombs to the bottom of the hull and detonating. This could either be done underwater or down in the hull. A pirate could hold 5 total coconut bombs. How to get the bombs would be a bit of alchemy I guess. Collect coconuts and a gunpowder barrel, Maybe one barrel could fill 5 coconut bombs. They could also be laid as traps at outposts or other area’s maybe each bomb takes 50% of a players health. So getting hit by 1 is not instant death. To detonate you’d have to either light a fuse on one or shoot them. If they are close enough together they will chain react like gunpowder barrels. It could take up a weapon slot as well so that if you enter into PVP after detonation you are at a disadvantage. These could also be thrown like grenades, light the fuse and time it right for a small explosion near enemy players.

Alliance Messenger Birds - Getting harassed by pirates and you are in a alliance send them a message with a messenger bird that you're being chased and see if they come to aid you. Once sent the bird would take X seconds to reach a alliance ship per Square on the map. So the further away the ship the longer it takes them to get the message. You could choose from a set list of messages like “being chased by pirates in the shores of plenty. To being able to right custom messages if you're on a PC or using a mouse and keyboard on Xbox(when that is added) The bird would be up in the crows nest of your alliance ship squawking alerting them they have a new message. The message could be read like a voyage map.

Skeleton Forts - Add a Barrel or two to the forts treasure room, There it could hold 50 banana’s, cannonballs, and planks, as well as cursed cannonballs. I’d also like to see a treasure map added that has a chance for either another stronghold chest or a chest of legends. Or a bounty map that drops some skeleton captain skulls or stronghold skull. Give players a reason to explore an island after a fort instead of just going fort to fort to fort.

Supply Crates - While I think we should be able to get these from normal merchant missions as well as messages in a bottle. I’d like to be able to buy empty crates from the merchant to fill up. Maybe the cost is 250 gold each if we fill them up we can sell them for the none voyage price. But this would also be very useful when wanting to stock up a ship. Each crewmate can grab a different type and fill up the crates instead of running back and forth to the boat over and over again.

Music Box - Keeping snakes calm is not that big of a issue but I’d like to see music boxes washed up on shore that you can use to keep snakes calm on the ship and give yourself some nice music while sailing around. Have them sellable to the merchant alliance. Maybe each shanty has a different price with the legend shanty music box being found in stronghold forts.

Palm Fonds - Allow us to find palm fonds on islands and use them to add a little wind to our sails. Don’t go overboard maybe a 5% increase in speed per sail used on. Note that the person using the palm fond would only be doing that and not able to adjust sails and such. It wouldn’t be that huge of a disadvantage if you didn’t have one. These could also be used for riddles and such. Requiring you to create a gust of wind at a specific location. Just make the Palm Fonds fairly common.

Crabs - Put a crab crate on every boat or at least allow us to buy one from the merchant alliance. While out adventuring you could find crabs around the islands. Pick them up and put them in the crate and at the end of you voyage you could sell them to the merchants for rep and gold. Different colored crabs could be worth different amounts like normal. Maybe even just sell them in bulk no need to sell individually. This would make a easy way to earn merchant rep while doing other activities.

Rare Animals - Add rare colored animals that are worth a good amount of gold if caught and sold. It would give value to carrying a crate on your ship. You never know when you’ll find that Orange chick or White Snake.

Sacks of Gold - Add sacks of gold around the islands, you can use them once you pick them up for a instant reward or take them back and sell them at a outpost for a bonus 25% reward. Or have it to where everyone gets the gold reward if you sell it at a outpost but only you get the reward if you use it. Maybe even have rare ones that reward doubloons.

Sharks Drop Loot - They’ve eaten enough pirates that they’d have a skull or relic in their gut. Maybe add some additional loot items like shark teeth or old boots (Wearable of course).

I've also recently posted some ideas on how to use current in game items in new ways.

  • wow, some things have been requested yet but I love some "new" ones (at least from my knowledge) like the sneak mode and skelleton forts ideas. The palm fonds is actually the funniest one (I joked one time with my crew about that but with an emote of "Blow wind"), and I think is really SoT style, would be loved to see this kind of s#%&id s%@t in game XD

  • @amancebacabras yea I always like the idea of silly yet useful.

  • @yelmurc Love your ideas, but I do not think some would be cool without some changes. Let's see:

A sneak mode - I don't think it will be a cool feature, because the only way to differentiate a enemy from a foe us the gamertag. But, a crouch mode without loud sounds could be cool.

Music Box - I think this could unbalance the game, but, if the music box is loud enough to attract enemies, maybe it's a funny thing to see.

  • @targasbr I can see the issues with sneak mode, but I think it’s a idea worth exploring. The game needs to support pvp as much as pve.

As for the music box, I dont see how calming snakes with the off chance that you find a box unbalances the game. I’d love for you to elaborate on why you think it would.

  • @yelmurc what makes the game a bit more difficult on the part of the snakes is just having to play the music to get close, with the music box that would make things too easy. But I'm not the best person to talk about, since I do not feel like doing the merchants.

  • @targasbr I see the snakes as a annoyance not some deep game mechanic i need to over come. And if music boxes are about as rare as relics it’s not a guarantee you’d find one running merchant missions.

  • @yelmurc believe me, pigs are much worse...

  • @targasbr yea pigs suck, We had 15 on a galleon once one person was fun time pig feeder.

  • Added 3 new items to the list

    Sharks dropping loot
    Gold sacks
    Rare animals
