So this is a new one for me, but this just happened. Ending my roughly 3 hour solo play session just a few minutes ago, I had 2 stronghold's worth of loot with me. I don't normally carry around this much loot, but I literally could not have cashed in between due to an unconventional way of obtaining such loot (cleared stronghold at beginning of session, chased away but kept the key, stole other players' stronghold loot, made way back to OG stronghold to retrieve my loot from multiple hours prior). As I'm making my way to back to Golden Sands, there is no one on the horizon in any direction. The coast is clear (or so I thought).
I pull up to the outpost, anchor, check the horizon once more (which is still devoid of any ships) and begin to unload my loot onto the beach. Suddenly, 3 pirates come dashing onto the beach firing and swiping at me. How is this possible?! There was no one even on the horizon 30 seconds before, where did this ship come from?! They kill me, steal my Stronghold GP barrel, 2 stronghold chests, and Chest of A Thousand Grogs. I respawn and am able to sprint to the beach and cash in a Stronghold Skull. Another chase ensues, they're able to kill me once more. I'm fuming at this point. I spawn again just as my ship sinks, am able to cash in the other Stronghold Skull and 2 Bone Dusts (apparently these guys didn't know what the most valuable pieces of loot were) as well as a couple other things, kill 2 of them in the process, and then watch as their ship departs the outpost leaving behind just a couple more pieces of loot for me to cash in.
While I'm thankful that I was able to cash in a good chunk of what I had (since I really shouldn't have been able to cash in any of it after being ambushed 3v1), it's pretty ridiculous that these guys spawned at the outpost I was already occupying. In reality, I shouldn't have lost any of my loot (which took me 3 hours to obtain).
Has anyone else had a similar experience? I really think it shouldn't be possible to spawn at an outpost already being occupied by a crew.
