Shipwrecked Chests not counting towards Commendations

    I have been handing in "shipwrecked" treasure that I have acquired from defeating the Megalodon and Skeleton Ships. To my surprise these treasures do not count towards the Gold Hoarder: "Sell x Shipwrecked Chests to the Gold Hoarder" commendation.

    The treasure itself doesn't have the "shipwrecked" nametag (like the Ashen treasure does), but when I hand them in the notification reads: "Shipwrecked Chest Sold". The amount in my commendation tab has remained the same for a couple of weeks.

    Anyone else noticed this issue? I have raised a support ticket, please do the same if yoy have encountered this problem as well.

    @lt-swag-johnson I’ve been having the same issue. I reported it and was told rare is aware of the situation and that other players have said that the commendation refreshes during their next play through. Then they marked my issue as solved but I’m still not receiving credit for turning in shipwrecked chests torwards the commendation.

    The response I have received from support:
    Could you please confirm the exact name of the Commendation you are referring to? As soon as we have this information we will be able to investigate further.

    While the name of the commendation was literally in my support ticket...

    This might take awhile...

    @lt-swag-johnson I think only the barnacled chests count towards the shipwrecked chests commendation. Been working on that one and finally finished it last night by, yes you guessed it, finding a barnacled chest on the bottom of a shipwreck :D

    You are correct when it comes to Chests from a Shipwreck, but Skeleton Ships and Megalodons drop Barnacled Chests, @lizalaroo.

    Like I said: handing them in at the Gold Hoarder results in a "Shipwrecked Chest Sold" notification, but they don't count as such.

    @mast3rdon your ticket being marked as resolved means they’ve read it and responded initially. Doesn’t mean it’s closed. :)

    @lt-swag-johnson They do, you are right, but perhaps it is only the barnacled ones that come from shipwrecks that do actually count? I’ve not really paid attention before looking for the last one I needed and that did come from a shipwreck and did count.

    To further elaborate. The shipwreck chest are the barnicled chests. These exist before skeleton crews or finding things in water. So to get them u literally had to search shipwrecks that randomly appeared. These are the only ones that count towards the commandations

    I have found barnacled chests on skelly ships and on shorelines, they look like shipwrecked chests but they are not named as such. I believe they can only come from actual random shipwrecks.

    I find it funny that this thread resurfaces now.
    The developers "fixed" it by renaming the barnacled chests dropped by Megalodons and Skeleton Ships. They no longer have shipwrecked in their name.

    Anyway, this thread can be closed now. Thank you.

    Yes, I am very content with their decision to actually fix the issue.
