add Save mission progress and resources before to logout very important.

  • Please add possibility to SAVE the quest\mission and ship resource progress before to logout,because sometime the game give me 3 maps in 1 voyage to complete (not all people like to play fast\run just for complete the mission,some people like to play the mission but have their free time for do it),but some people for example me like to play slow (explore sea,see islands,have fun etc) so in 2 hour do only 1 map then if i must stop to play the game and logout i lose the other 2 maps, and also i lose the resources in my ship too , i think this is not good because can make sea of thieves lose active online users or future customers too,some people can get hurt\frustrated about this especially who like to play solo,not all people can play 10 hour at day people have life and must to can logout and save the status of the game without lose the progress of the voyage or resources in the ship,or take resources too will be unuseful , take it for what if then at logout disappear...
    islands is very far require long time to voyage in the sea,real-life time,so people must have a way to save their voyage status.
    Ok if you not want change the game so much just put Special SAVE STATUS ports on it (maybe also with docking gameplay mini game or whatever) in the FAR part of the map\sea,so if people want to save they must go on that....so it will be a part of gameplay.. but dam give to people possibility to save.

    if you not fix this,then what will happen is people instead to play the game with care will play it by not care nothing and then soon leave the game too for find similar games where is possible to save,and i think this is not good,this is problem of many games "rust" etc. not only about your game, if you check review of them on steam\windows store etc.. people not like this cant save.

    And ok you can say "Yes but also if you restart thegame from 0 you can get cannonball,banana,wood just at port where you start is full of it,and you can also get new voyage with new 3 map very cheap"
    Yes is true... but people not like to do what they do already,is hurt,this is why save exist in videogames,if i do it already when i logout and then back to the game if i complete already 1 voyage map of 3 maps i want to see only the next 2 voyage maps,and if i put 20 cannonball 20 banana and 20 wood in my ship i want to see these in my ship not want to see resources restart from 10-5-5 or whatever.

  • I agree I have wrote in another post about that too much things can happen in real life where u got to go but don’t want to lose the time you have invested to do quest and so forth.it would be nice

  • There is enough in this game now that you don't even have to have an active voyage to profit. So if you don't have long to do a lengthy voyage just sail around and look for shipwrecks and skeleton ships. I would like the ability to rejoin a server after a disconnect as that would make it less risky to start a long voyage without worrying about losing it if you disconnect beyond your control or you glitch into the island geometry as a solo player (requiring a restart).

  • @xboxoneitalia I dont think its a good idea to save resources only because of cursed cannonballs... As for voyages, I dont really care if I complete them at the end of a session. If Im done playing, Im done playing. Incompleted voyages wont keep me up at night

  • I think this will unbalance the game, and, most missions can be completed in less than 1 hour.

  • You could exploit this idea to avoid any unwanted combat while stockpiling resources and cursed cannonballs.

    Your time on a server can be directly related to power but is not persistent.
    Your idea would end this balance and break the game.

    is not true,the problem is not about do combat or not,or get resources or not, i always do combat and i win it too (i do combat also me solo slooè vs 4 players big ship and always win so i'm not scared to do combat at all i have fun with it) is not a problem for me to do combat i'm very strong in that,and i already do get resources too always my ship is full.
    But the problem is if i feel pipi',or of i must to eat,or if i must go work or shopping there is not possibility to save the game status,or pause the game,then always happen something that your ship broken and you lose all or the game logout you for inactivity so this is the problem,that is not possible to pause or save the status,and this very hurt me.

    There is a lot of games server side where people can save resources and status,i always do it on elite dangerous,ultima online and many other games,why in sot can't do.

    Not true ,enable people to save status and pause game or find a safe place where people can take care self life only will make the game better.
    People can't stay 24h24h inside 1 game must to have way to save theyr things,progress,status and safe place.

    Yes this you right,but is possible to up level of golden hoarder and other npc also if do without mission? for then unlock things to get?.

  • @xboxoneitalia You get reputation from turning in what you find to the certain companies. So you you find a Captain's Chest on a sunken ship it's gonna be worth around the same as one you dig up.

  • @xboxoneitalia voyages are a dime at dozen. No need to worry about the maps you don't complete, there is always more treasure to hunt.

    The game places everyone at a start of the session on the same footing. Being able to save your progress and move to a new server is against the entire idea of the game. The fact that we cannot be online 24/7 is kind of what makes it work.

    I am an advocate for Rare to have a look at the supply amounts we get at the start of a new session, as the risks on the seas have increased and it almost feels like a must stock up for the initial 10 mins of a session, while we all just are drawn to the sea and want to leave the soil below our feet. Which would help for the shorter sessions on the sea.

    I have a real life, a job, wife, a 7 years old girl. I play and my family understand. My girl play with me too. I have a lot of friends who also have the same lifestyle. We spent 10 minutes looking for resources every game? Yes! That´s part of the game. If u need to get out the game for a couple of minutes, just leave your character running and your controller plugged on the usb, if you have luck, your ship will be there when you come back.

    Save missions? Ok, that's cool. But... Again. Most missions can be completed in less than 1 hour. If you have less than a hour to play a game, this is not the game for you.
    Save resources? No. That's definitively will unbalance the game.

    This is a Multiplayer game, not an MMORPG or persistent-universe game, which means everything that happens in a play session stays in that session.

  • Well i can definitly see both sides of the argument here.

    On the one hand you have a game that wants to cater to to a very casual crowed which are generally the player who have the least time to invest to a single session and while most voyages avg about an hour to complete this does not help someone sho only has 30min to play or doesn't know how much time they will have.

    On the other hand alot of balence of this game comes from the fact that every one starts on the same lvl and the only advantage they gain are the resoursces they collected within the session as well as the fact that voyages don't need to be completed or done at all unless you want that specific commendation and corrisponding Achivement.

    1. I don't really see a big issue with simply saving a ships unfinished voyages and Cosmetics at an outpost. I think this would be very benifical to players. Infact Rare stated they were working on this.

    2. Saving Resources However is problematic more so then simply being able to outright buy supplies especially when it comes to CCBs as what makes them balanced is supposed to be the fact they are Rare. Alot of tweak would have to be made inorder to make this work, but it's already been stated that this would foundamentally going agianst the nature of this game.

    3. If we got the ability to save our ships with loot at the outpost what would be the point? Why not simply sell the Loot at the outpost. I don't see the purpose. The point of going to the outpost when you have loot is to sell said loot. This really wouldn't bother me etheir way.
