Q: What is the longest Sea of Thieves session you have had to date and how did it go?

  • I just finished a 22.5 hour session in Sea of Thieves! I...

    • killed a kraken WITHOUT a ship;
    • sank ~15 skeleton ships;
    • destroyed 5 megalodons;
    • got the kraken commendation;
    • bought out 2 more wailing barnacle ship accessories;
    • completed the legendary cargo run commendation;
    • turned in the sapphire gem commendation;
    • found more rubies and emerald gems;
    • turned in 360 captain's chests (thanks to a friend's gilded voyage);
    • completed an athena voyage;
    • finished buying out all of the standard clothing, vanity, tools, and weapon items from every outpost;
    • picked up the hunter ship accessories;
    • purchased the sovereign ship accessories;
    • paid for the ghost pants, gloves, and boots;
    • finished the cursed cannonball skeleton kills commendation;
    • completed numerous bonus quests (over 7 pages worth!);
    • made 5 new friends;
    • leached off of a 5 ship alliance;
    • reached PL 5.
    • made at least over 500k in gold;
    • only got sunk once;
    • sank ~4 player ships;
    • killed other players at least 10x;
    • taught 3 other players things they didn't know;
    • sank a ship in under 5 seconds (ballast ball for the win!); and
    • had an absolutely spectacular time!

    Thanks Rare.

  • @galactic-geek Sounds like an eventful session! Lol I think mine might be like 12 hours?

    I don’t think I could handle a 22 session on any game aha! Maybe i might of when fallout new Vegas launched but I was a lot younger back then aha

  • Southpark wow episode popped in my head. I try not to go over 5 hours on any game.

  • I would retire from the game if I played even over 5 hours. But that's good with what you accomplished...I guess.
    But I did the skeleton fort I think 5 times in one or two different servers.

  • @galactic-geek epic!

    Wow... pretty impressive all of it!!
    WITHOUT a ship..... go on, I need the info, there is more to this story :)

  • @piratecraggy We had about 20+ gunpowder barrels, a rowboat, and all 4 crew still alive when our ship sank early on. So we used them to blow up each of the remaining tentacles, gathered our floating loot (about 40k in gold), and rowed to a nearby outpost - then my kraken commendation unlocked. I guess you could say that we "kraked" down.

  • @galactic-geek Very nice, and one heck of a story. The longest I have every played in a single session was between 15-20 hours. I do not remember for sure what the exact amount of time was. But this was back when Skelly ships first came out. And we did that two or three days in a row. Had soo much fun making new friends and going after all the different types of skelly ships with their different CCB's. While I have had a ton of fun playing SoT, and have so many stories from my time playing, I believe that those were the greatest stories, the most exciting times in game and overall best experiences I have ever had in SoT.

  • @Galactic-Geek I thought I was extreme on my time spent in game, but wow! I don't know how you can do a 22 hour adventure, but it sounds like it was fun! The longest I was able to do was close to 12 hours, and I had such a headache at the end of it. Not because of the game play, mind you. Just from staring at the screen. Maybe it is just my old eyes having to strain on a fixed focal point for that long... lol! We had a laundry list of completions too. Not as long as yours, but it still felt good. Here are a few of the highlights from that session.

    • Merchant forager completed (me)
    • Athena 10 completed (shipmate 1)
    • Ruby mermaids found and final mermaid commendations completed (shipmate 2)
    • Skeleton Captain chest and skull commendations completed (shipmate 1 and 2)
    • Several battles for contested skull forts
    • A number of Megs

    The kraken seems to be eluding me lately. I still need to defeat 2 more to get my kraken cannons. I spent 12 hours on that session and not a single sighting of her. Maybe she doesn't like me... Maybe Apes are too hard to eat, so she is avoiding me... Maybe she has indigestion from you feeding her all of those gunpowder barrels!

    Now if I could only find the shrouded ghost and the box of secrets. I am almost certain that they are just a myth. I hear tales that they exist. I, however, have never once encountered either.

  • @ogdirtyape I'm with you there, buddy - I have yet to find that elusive box or that damned white wha... AHEM Meg. I'm also 5 away from gettin the legendary kraken commendation.

  • @galactic-geek I should actually add a serious answer other than my exclamation of how epic your session was (it truly does sound it!)

    My longest session is probably my first or second session in the game proper on release - we started playing at about 7pm UK time and ended up sailing until 2.30am, so around 7.5 hours!
    In that time we completed a fort, our first few voyages and even saw (and beat) Karen first time out! I remember thinking "wow, we have seen everything that the game has to offer already...", but then 261 hours later I still love logging in to see what new adventure and interaction awaits us!

  • @galactic-geek 22.5 hour play session! Excellent work, now get some sleep :-) My favourites...

    • killed a kraken WITHOUT a ship - Are you a ninja?
    • made 5 new friends/sank ~4 player ships - A solid mix of mercy/carnage.
    • leached off of a 5 ship alliance - You say leached, i say savvy pirating!

    Again, excellent work.

  • @galactic-geek

    had an absolutely spectacular time!

    Love it :D

    Are you a ninja?

    Nah, just a collector of black powder...

  • Pretty close to 48hrs.

  • I wondering why anyone thinks it's good to play thst much.
    It's unhealthy for sure and sorry, i grant you all of it, but honestly it sounds like addiction to me i dont want to support.

    I maybe have played 8 hours one day, but that was very much.
    Mostly i play 2-3 hours, very rare it's up to 5 hours.
    The 8hrs were an exception i dont think that will happen again.

    I dont even know how to stay awakening that long without drugs i dont prefer to use 😂

    No offense mate

  • @bugaboo-bill

    I played for 25 hours straight once, just lost track of time. Outlasted 3 crews, with the help of what is probably considered far too much caffeine and sugar. It's not always exactly intentional.

  • @galactic-geek

    A 9 hour session of constant Athena Voyages and PvP which got me from Athena 9 to 10!

    An extremely fun session, I don't even recall what all we did. The main thing was Athena's because my crew was determined to help me hit Athena 10 that night, but there were a ton of player encounters along the way. One of my most memorable sessions, full of adventure.

    October 25, 2018. Hit Athena 10 at 4:45AM!

  • i have reached athenas 9 i have done pretty much everything there is to do in any shape way and form but never have i had the devotion to play for more than 6 hours in one session hats off to you mate
