Hi there. Hope you guys enjoy the gane and keep it alive until one day I get my chance to sail again but for now I have to feel land under my feet.
I think I might need "addiction" help, im not sure about it but yesterday I had a set of tears dropping while I was working and realizing that I dont have time to play sea of thieves and probably wont even see the festivities... It kinda makes me doubt my sanity. I would like some opinions please.
Anyways this IS the best game I ever played and I played a lot but back to the topic... I have real life thinga going on that wont leave me spare time to go after the sea adventures...
So i dont know... probably wan[ed to cry about it cause i cant handle the fact that I feel sad that i cant play "a game" and kinda fwel traped in reality or aomething....
im in the work bus atm anywYs Goodbuy SoT and community! For now at least. Until we meet again... A crazy fan signing out!
Goodbye cry
@mintmage513321 Take a break, get your feet back on the ground and do what you need to do. I understand your situation because I’ve been there too. Sometimes you need to break away. Don’t let your real-life suffer. It’s hard to play this game in small doses. Even a “quick” session has a way of turning into two or three hours.
Sea of Thieves will always be here for you when/if you have time. In the meantime, bon voyage.
As @Genuine-Heather said - real life has to come first and sometimes this means we can't be sailing the seas or fighting dragons, but the time will come when you'll hoist that mainsail again and the Sea of Thieves will be waiting for you. Til then, chin up and do what you need to.
I salute you Sir!!
Your passion for the game is admirable, & your dedication will be missed.
But you know what?
We'll all be here when you return.
We can sit by the tavern fire over a pint of grog & tell of the tales you missed, to get you back up to speed.
Sometimes life makes land-lubbers of us all.. but we are always pirate!#bemorepirate
There will always be only one you. Your life is precious and should never be neglected, sacrificed, or compromised. Stop and take the best care of yourself you can.
Your love for the sea as you expressed will not fade or your voyages forgotten. The sea will not forget you as well and will be waiting for you when the time is right for you to return.
@mintmage513321 As others have said, real life must always come first. SoT is an amazing, immersive game that you can easily become lost in. And as @Genuine-Heather said, it is not an easy game to play for short term game sessions.
I remember my first real game addiction, which all games have been to some degree or another a form of addiction for me, but the first one that truly affected my real life was Game of War. That game was a money pit, and highly addictive. I almost let it ruin my life. And did end up causing some damage to many relationships that never healed quite right after that. While I knew I was addicted and giving the game far too much of my time, money and steeling way too many precious RL moments for the game, I didn't step back, until damage was done and I was forced to.
So I commend you for recognizing a problem and I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers as I know the struggle. If you ever need someone to talk to about it, hit me up.
I play SoT a lot, it is possible I play more than I probably should, but I take forced days away from the game. One of the things I have done in my life to make sure I don't lose sight of what is real, and what matters most. When I am with my kids, or with others, I ignore all electronics to the extent possible in today's world. My only exceptions to this are watching a movie together or playing a game together, actually spending time with the people I am with, the game as just a tool for entertainment.
So take some time away, and develop some rules for yourself that will help you combat the addiction from running your life. And if you are able to stick to the rules, come back and sail with us again. We will be here. And we will support you in whatever way we can.
