So I don't post here all the time, but I do like to read though and keep up on the community as I play the game. What does it take to become a forum moderator? Would love to contribute to the game more!

Just be you, show your awesomeness on the forum and you'll probably need to make a lot of cookies and taco! :D

To date, apart from the Rare employees, known as the Global Moderators there have only been two other groups of people elevated into a moderation position.
The Deckhands were elected by Rare prior to release, during the Alpha and Beta test days.
More recently we have seen 3 people given the new title of Quartermaster, who are new forum Moderators.Now looking at the 2 forum based quartermasters (one is on Discord); @Musicmee is a prolific poster, who may, or may not be in fact multiple people working as one! He has 16.2 thousand posts and 21.7 thousand reputation, he is as active on Discord and Twitter as he is here as well I might add.
@triheadedmonkey has only 3.1k posts, with 4k reputation, but similarly works hard here and on the Discord to help other folks out.So the short answer is - who knows?!
Be active, be helpful, be kind to others, respect the code above all else... BUT, being active I believe is important, so with only 18 posts and 11 reputation you may struggle i'm sad to say.Jon likes Cake!!

Be careful with what you ask for ...Let me see, where did i placed that advertising paper i once found in my letterbox ...Oh here it is...Want to be a Moderator? Do you like to read the Forum , twitter , Reddit ,did it , Mixer, Twitch and itcher during a 24/7 routine? Do you like to be evenly respected by the community and do you like to be griefed and trolled upon by the less community feeling people of the Forum, while you never be able nor allowed to retaliate? Do you like to wait ,patiently , more than two years before we find you good enough ?And this all on a volunteer base , then this is the job for you...Do NOT think we are joking with the 24/7 rule , you will play Sea of Thieves ,while typing on the Forum ,Discord , Twitter , Reddit and so on and on...Still in love with the Job ? Then you are the white Raven we have been looking for for so long...
There you go ,Sir ...Still intrested ? Waw , you must have a knucklehead mentality but believe me , Master Musicmee doesn't even remember his own name after a new DLC get's dropped in our favorite game...Don't ever tell that Old George didn't warn you , Sir ...because ...i just did.
