Tips to find the Kraken

    Hello, I know there is no standard procedure to force it to spawn, but are there any tips to increase the chances of that happening? I have never found the Kraken, I really need the achievememt for it and I am disappointed!

    The few times I have seen it spawn was when I had treasure from skeleton ships or skull forts on the my ship. Try sailing around with a stronghold chest or a stronghold skull on board and see if that helps.

    @snikefriend I encountered one outside the fog with skeleship loot if that helps.

    With the amount of forts spawning u can take the loot on the ship or only the key it always seems to attack me when I have a lot of it

    Check all deepwater areas away from islands and rocks.

    Each time I have encountered a kraken our ship had a few thousand gold worth of loot on it. It seems like some risk is involved to see a kraken!

    I'm not convinced it's tied to on board loot. It seems to attack me having just left the outpost after cashing in all my loot. Also just after leaving the "spawn in" outpost within seconds of first starting out with no loot at all. For me it's mostly after leaving Ancient Spire and Dagger Tooth.

    @snikefriend This is one of those games where people LOOOOVE to spread rumors & false information because "it happened to me once".
    Stronghold loot and/or keys don't make it spawn more.
    Athena's chests don't make it spawn more.
    Actively engaging in PvP doesn't make it spawn more.
    Location doesn't matter.
    Amount of time played doesn't matter.
    Total value of treasure on board doesn't matter.
    Crew size doesn't matter.

    It spawns when it spawns. Nothing affects that.

    Sail into a storm with a bunch of stronghold loot on your boat.....

    Honestly, I see the kraken way too much. Usually when im in a sloop, in a storm, and out of items running to an outpost with all the treasure from a fort and a galleon chasing me. To think of it, though, ever since the fort of the damned came into existence I have been seeing the kraken more...

    The Kraken only spawns when there is no skeletal fleet or fort active (not including FotD). Once a fort or fleet has been completed you have a chance at it spawning while sailing around, but keep in mind other ships have the same chance if they're sailing too.
