Okay so the kraken moans every night at 3 am. I’m sure everyone knows that.. the rumor since shrouded spoils, though, is that you can listen to where the sound is coming from, head that way, and then next night at 3 am you can re-adjust.
I did this yesterday and found the kraken- but that might just be a coincidence
Myth or real?
I had suggested that a while back. Adding in rewards for the kraken would promote hunting it and we needed a way to find it other than just random chance. I even suggested having it appear at the surface for a brief moment while it is calling out. I'm gonna keep this in mind and see if it helps find it because it would literally be the only way to do anything to help make it show up.
Before, the kraken was something to avoid. Now we want to find him. We saw a sloop fighting him last night and decided we wanted to steal the kill. We didn't make it in time, but we never would have given it a second thought without treasure and commendations tied to it.
I could be wrong, but I think it's a myth. I have never noticed the Kraken moaning at 3am, and I've played since release day.
The sound that I've heard most people refer to as "the kraken," sounds more [to me] like someone solving a riddle step (green flash, violin music, and a roaring/moaning sound accompanies riddle step completion).
It's rather comical, though, how many myths have developed in the Sea of Thieves. It's fitting for a naval action/pirate game :)
