Cthulhu’s Awakening

  • Ahoy Mateys! I just came up with this amazing idea for a new event in Sea of Thieves. In the next event I think we should have Cthulhu as a new boss. It’s like the hungering deep event. Cthulhu is presented as a monster covered in a storm (hurricane) as you know every time you get into a game there will always be a storm. Only this time Cthulhu will be in it. There will be certain requirements to summon Cthulhu like in the megaladon event you had to have a special drum. Once you defeat Cthulhu you will get a reward (I’m not sure what the reward will be). Just so you know this isn’t a original idea and I know this has been brought up before I just wanted to sum up what I think would happen if this was actually an event. I hope rare takes a look into this

  • @danklizard202 In my opinion, Cthulhu shouldn't be a monster you can defeat. That kinda destroys the purpose of Cthulhu... I would like to see some sord of land-based boss, though....

  • @ottersteeth but that makes no sense if you can’t defeat him. In video games bosses only have one purpose: to be defeated. If you can’t defeat him what’s the point of him being in the game

  • @danklizard202 Well, Cthulhu is a horror-ish monster. He's a weird all-powerful being that can't really be destroyed. In horror games, that makes a lot of sense. In a game like SoT less so. I agree. I therefore think Cthulhu wouldn't be the right choice for a fightable boss.
He could throw a lot of dangerous things at you that you had to avoid or fight, though. Appearing almost like a skull cloud, but very suddenly and targeted at a ship.... Or something like that... I think that would fit his being more.
