Treasure sinking

    How long does it take for treasure to sink once your ship has been sunk? It use to not sink as fast as it has been.

    Last night we sadly got both hit by a huge volcanic rock and our sloop sunk before we spawned back in. It loaded us in at the next island over and by the time we got back to the island where we sunk all of our treasure was gone and not on the bottom of the ocean floor either. But the gunpowder barrel we had aboard was still there.

    We’ve had this problem with the skellie ships treasure despawning before we can get to it after sinking the last ship, which wasn’t the captain’s ship because it sunk minutes earlier before we realized it.

    @purplemajic I believe it is a few minutes. You can reset the timer by picking it up in the water and then dropping it again.

    @purplemajic don't know exactly...to prevent this we always sink the non-captain ship first...when you are near enough you see the red name above the captain, this one sink at the end

    I can't state this as fact, but at least to me, it seems like loot sinks (or despawns) much quicker in the boiling water near an erupting volcano than in normal water. I think 5 minutes, as said above, is about right for loot in normal conditions before it sinks.

    @schwammlgott yes, that’s what we were doing. The captain ship popped up and then a minute later another ship popped up. We had already been putting holes in the captain’s ship. Then we kept getting bombarded with the rigging ball and they kept shooting regular cannons at us. We were repairing then the ships kept ramming each other. By the time we were able to get our sail back up there was only one ship left and the one that apparently sunk was the Captain’s ship. By the time we realized the captain’s ship sunk it treasure was no where to be found. Oh well. I think like the challenge of keeping a sloop afloat. That’s a reward in itself.

    @purplemajic yeah, that's an achievement for itself...when cursed sails event was there, we finished it too with the sloop, at the end we had 6 holes in the ship and no more planks...but we got the loot and sailed away while one of us was just bailing

    Finding it even floating can be a challenge in that scenario.

    @purplemajic Is it possible that someone came by and picked up the treasure before you got there? Earlier, i had 4 treasure chest, my boat got sunk, but i put all the treasure on a little island, when i got back to it, there was only 3. i know someone took the one, because he is the one who sunk me lol, dont know why he didnt take the others lol
