Not the crash of waves but of the game!

  • So I've just come into a (to my limited knowledge) relatively beefy PC, and the first game I wanted to play was this. I was able to run SoT without any issues before the update (Only been playing on PC for a couple of days) and it was working fine on max settings. Today I was excited to play new content but every time I start the game I'm able to play for about 15-20 minutes before the game crashes the entire computer. Screen goes to a blank teal color and the sound beeps for a while then I'm forced to hard reset. This doesn't happen in other games so I'm not sure if it is a hardware issue or the new content is messed up for me. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Dang that sounds familiar to what I experience about a week ago, before the Forsaken Shores patch.
A teal coloured screen with a sad smiley face saying something about an unknown error has occurred with very rapid, loud & almost continuous, beeping.

I am still unsure of what caused it but have ran a pedestal fan pointed at the open case ever since. The weather is starting to get hot here in Qld Australia so I put it down to that, CPU overheating.

  • @admiral-rrrsole It actually did end up being an overheating issue! I just had to run more extensive tests. Case closed, now back to good ol' fashioned High seas piracy!

Great to hear that you are up and running again.
Mine used to simply turn off without warning until I added a 6" mains power fan inside the case and it has been good for months.
The teal screen last week was totally new to me and that rapid beeping gave good reason to panic.

Glad to have been able to help.
Thanks for letting me know. :o)
