You know, the more I think about the new UI vs the old one, I realise I don't actually want a 'Take All'/'Store All'...
My reasoning is that that is not what the old UI did, you had to hit the button for each item you wanted to add. Holding 5 bananas? I want to add 4 to the barrel but keep one on me just in case.
What I was hoping for was more of a mix between old and new, so something like (this is xbox controller based, cant remember the PC key equivalents - I also cant quite remember what the buttons were before)
X - Take one item from the first stack you have space for
Y - Store one item from your currently selected items into store
A - Open UI (this could be 'Hold X', or 'Hold Y' perhaps)
From what I remember, when you were up at the barrel, you only got the option to 'store' an item if what you were holding was compatible, the same should be true.
The 'take one item' could just compare what was in the left most stack against what you were holding, if you didn't have space it went to the next one... and so on.

another edit so yeah, I just realised A is jump isn't it, so it cant be that for the UI, so possibly 'hold' on either X or Y.
