Intel 3000
Can my laptop run the game at all?
@ferroushornet01
Official Spec list:
not sure how yours would fit on this list, but I have seen people say they have played it on less than the minimum.The best advice I could give would probably be to see if you can get a trial of Game Pass and see how it runs. Pretty sure you can still get a 14-day trial.
@ferroushornet01 Probably not, even on the lowest settings. But go to canirunit.com and the server will assess your computer and tell you if you can play it. Good luck!
@ferroushornet01 No chance of playing it with that old a CPU. No way. Even newer integrated intel graphics would struggle with this game.

@aod-fluid Its not a gaming laptop, its just a laptop i got to use the internet and play team fortress 2 in 2011
You will almost be guaranteed to thermal throttle that machine -- probably even with an older title like TF2... when your machine reaches a high temperature (which is almost guaranteed with any laptop) it will drop the CPU speed to keep the temperature below the threshold of failure.
Even wifi packages (the chip in your laptop/phone/tablet that is your "wifi") can fail when it overheats. Wifi typically just "stops working" or gets really slow...or the connecttion drops momentarily. Video chipsets can fail in the same way. Get too hot, run slower to keep temperatures down.
My actual desktop was built in 2011 (September actually) so it just hit 8 years old. It barely plays this game as is...without thermal throttling.
You may want to do something like pick up a free trial gamepass and give it a go. It will probably run, and may even run well for a few minutes, but then it is very likely going to go into slideshow mode.
@ferroushornet01 No. A 2-core, 2.1 GHz i3 2310m capable of using GDDR3 RAM (of which you have only 4GB) with 21.3 GB/s bandwidth, is not better than a custom 8-core, 2.3 GHz AMD Jaguar capable of using GDDR 5 RAM (and uses 12GB) with 326 GB/s bandwidth. Not in this reality, anyway.
@ferroushornet01 Memory aside. Ah. Well, considering that you are talking about gaming on an integrated chip where the gpu uses system memory, memory is extremely important and you can’t simply set it aside in making comparisons. And the architecture is customized and optimized to do one thing... gaming. This is why the Xbox One X can play games at 4K with it’s integrated GPU which you couldn’t even come close to on an i3 2310m with it’s integrated chip. So, stop making silly comparisons claiming that your laptop cpu is better than the Xbox One X... it just isn’t.

@aod-fluid I have actually done a good bit on laptops. You just really have to spend some money on them to get good ones. Dont trust anything from 800 or less though.
The cooling on the "gaming" laptops is better... but it still is not up to par with a desktop CPU. You can replace the stock thermal compound with something like liquid metal and get better cooling results... but you still would have been better off getting a desktop where doing anything isn't a total pain in the rear in terms of hardware.
Gaming laptops have their place... just like consoles have their place... Again, I am playing on a desktop I built in 2011... chomping at the bit to rebuild it now that games are pushing it to it's max... and painfully so. Just waiting for the right time :D
