Its a weird topic title but i didnt know how best to word it. What im getting at is this. A sloop is a 2 man crew, a brig is 3 man and a galleon 4 man. But if you have more than 3 friends you cant play with all of them. Im not asking for a bigger ship. Just perhaps an option that lets up to 8 friends join the same server. Ive met some great pirates along the way and added them but im never gonna get to crew a ship with them and my friends. If you can form an alliance with strangers you never met, surely you could do the same with your friends. It would be like having a small armada. Maybe that should be my title. Sloop, brig, galleon, armada. Instead of the usual pick a ship and add friends, pick armada and then your ship and crew, then invite others to join in on the other crew.

Players taking over other ships and letting their buddies join seems like a common thing nowadays. I don't believe it is game breaking if just one other ship in the server has a crew of friends along for the ride.
Since the developers already allowed pirates to drop voyages on other crew's table, I think that adding another ship into the same server may happen. Probably not anytime soon, but I do believe they are thinking about implementing a feature like this.
@omnipotence13 its a slippery slope that could easily go bad if dont wrong but if you do have a few mates it would be pretty cool to band together and work like a cog rather than a bit slap dash to take down forts and skelly ships. I can see how it could pose a problem for total dominance but maybe have a specific server that allows people to know what they're letting themselves in for. Im not sure how it all works but spitballing ideas seems to work with these developers. They seem to actually care about their fanbase unlike other game developers that are just out to get your money through DLC and add ons.
I'm hopeful this isn't introduced. I'd be fine with a bigger ship that was compromised but a feature which allowed a server full of different ships of friends is op.
The difference with alliances or even asking others for their ship is that not everyone is going to agree to it.
I know not everyone who has 4 ships of friends on a single server would be idiots but there are a lot who would be
