Strange Gameplay Today

  • I had just returned to Ancient Spire to turn in 3 chests and a skull I picked up from the Athena wreck when a ship pulls up beside me. One player says they're Alliance and won't fire on me. 2 players come aboard and promptly kill me. Re spawn and die again. On the third re spawn I see one player using my cannon to fire on his own ship then I die again. So much for team play. At least I turned in my chests before multiple deaths. I did lose the Skull from the Athena. There really is no honor among thieves. I wish I could have seen them sink there own ship.

  • I am just curious... were you on a sloop and being attacked by a galleon with all black cosmetics and ghost figurehead?

Last night I was sailing with another pirate legend and two random guys. We had just finished a fort and were going to try for another lobby. We see a sloop at an outpost and the other two random guys (one was steering decided they just HAD to steal the sloop at outpost.

I did see some alliance request text and then the whole crew including me was on the sloop. The two random guys started playing music and flashing lanterns below deck , kind of started a little rave down there... but then I noticed they were spawn killing the sloop guy until he just wouldn't come back from the ferry of the damned.

Me and the other PL were bringing the sloop two little presents from the fort (a flagon and a marauders chest) When I saw this unsportsmanlike behavior (I love PvP but sinking sloops at an outpost and trolling with spawn kills with no intention isn't my style)

I used the sloop's guns to sink my own galleon so they would spawn away from the outpost and leave the poor b****r alone but I think the two sailed off with the sloop. I went and found a new crew, we agreed to focus on forts and not screw around, so they got themselves sunk with friendly fire.

Looks to me like this was you, and I can see how this was confusing. Just know half of us weren't cool with it. Sorry about your skull. When people see my ghost galleon coming , and us PL Athena 10's have nothing to gain, it's not how I want my gamertag to be known for.

I even said before I left... I bet we see this guy on the forums tomorrow... because it was such a lousy thing to do.

Allow me to make up for the lousy half of my random LFG crew... anytime you need an Athena, or a lvl 50 voyage of your choice you can hit me up.

I'd rather people know of me for helping people get to PL rather than messing with them with no objective.

  • @tigeromega123 athena skull? What's that?

  • @dreamcrusher401 Yes that was me. I know one player asked them to stop killing me. That must have been you. I thought it was very unsportsmanlike behavior because I was at outpost turning my booty.

  • @schwammlgott It was the skull that was in the wreckage of the Athena.

  • @tigeromega123

Small world man... sorry again, but I made them pay... the galleon went downto Davey Jones and some words were exchanged I can't say here. I got yer back mate. They were newer players too, didn't really "get" the concept of the game yet.

  • Yikes, sorry that happened but atleast on of the guys are on this forum and seem to be a decent player.

Honestly this is why I want no part of "teamwork" in this game. Last server I was on I rolled up to an outpost and there was a brig or galleon parked on other side because there were three guys there. Now I usually check around but I didnt notice at all, neither did my friend. We were really tired, it was late and we just got done trying to do the skelly ships. One of the guys types "we have plenty of wood planks" but I told my sloop mate to just get out of there. At another outpost we sold our stuff and a sloop comes along asking us to ally and that they are friendly. We were getting off anyways but even if we wernt I still would have sailed the opposite direction.

Just have had too many negative ally experiences to risk it at this point.

  • @dreamcrusher401 I hope they bit the dust before they cashed in Athena's skull. It would be nice if Rare declared a few ports as a no fire zone. There is nothing worse then spending a few hours doing missions then to have it all taken away at a port while cashing in.

  • @tigeromega123 This was the skull from some random sunken ship? Because there is no such thing as an 'Athena' Skull.

The stuff is yours when you turn it in... not before - that's the way the game is supposed to work. It can all be taken right up until it's in the merchant's hands.

  • @tigeromega123 sagte in Strange Gameplay Today:

@schwammlgott It was the skull that was in the wreckage of the Athena.

You mean one of the skeleton ships? Because the only ship that's called athena is the wreck in the Legendary Hideout, as far as I know

  • @dreamcrusher401 you can never rely on the acts of the noobasapian species. @TigerOmega123 also don't be discouraged by them either. Their kind knows not what they do.

  • @combatxkitty yup and as soon as rare goes back to sea of Thieves again instead of sea of Friends, I will be happy with them once more lol... hoping tomorrows commendations are pvp oriented

  • When he says "Athena" skull, I think he is refering to a hateful skull he found on a shipwreck. (Likely the shipwreck was The Blessing of Athena". The skull we saw was a hateful I believe.

To the original poster, there is no Athena skull,

they go from least to best...

Foul, Disgraced, Hateful, Villanous, Skeleton Captain, Stronghold

The only "Athena" item in the game that can be turned in is The Chest of Legends.
