He sails using nautical terms, became Pirate Legend just after the second week of the game (top 1000,) he's accompished 234/235 Skullforts, and leads a fleet of over 40 skilled Pirates.

Captain Firebeard heralds from the Lower Bay under orders to operate as a pioneering privateer in the Sea of Thieves. But within a few months serving as a valiant gunner, the crew and captain were at odds with each other. The crew decided to maroon the captain and quartermaster on Sandy Shallows. Afterwards, they elected Firebeard as the new captain who renamed the vessel "the Wrath of Hades." From there, for the next several years Captain Firebeard would sail across the Sea of Thieves plundering freely. However, his luck would take a turn for the worse. After a Kraken attack, a vicious battle with another band of pirates, and suffering a storm at Shipwreck Bay their fleet of seven dwindled down to two. Soon enough Firebeard's years of prosperity were forgotten. Within a month's end, at their hideout on Marauders Arch Firebeard's first mate orchestrated a mutiny and marooned him on an uncharted island. The mutineers didn't follow the code and only left him with his sword and compass.
There was only two options for Firebeard. Die, or wait for rescue. He decided against both. He found a lone piece of lumber dry enough to still float and began his long and arduous swim to the south where the outline of an island was seen. He finally washed upon Crooks Hollow where he survive in an a abandoned mine shaft. One day a small sloop had made anchor on the isle, and before asking them for aide he noticed they were members of the Royal Navy. He boarded their boat while they went ashore and prepared to steal it. However complications arose and due to a pig, the vessel sunk. After killing the recently castaway sailors, he went to the wreckage and found a map leading to a great fortune on Devil's Ridge. Believing the loot to renew his luck, Firebeard constructed a raft and set off for the island. Once he came close to the island a great sea creature burst from the depths. By the skin of his teeth he flew off the raft before it was devoured whole by the Hungering One. Firebeard, back to scraps only had a small distance to swim. Unfortunately sharks follow the Hungering One like fly's to a pigs a**e. He lost his right leg from the attack and before making it to the island's beach died in the waves. On Devil's Ridge his body was cast ashore.
Tis said Captain Firebeard, met his fate there. But, soon we learned there be all types of dark sorcery on the high seas...
Destined for a foul fate in the afterlife, Firebeard was aboard the Flying Dutchman. Rumors have it that he called out to whatever dark forces be listening and asked for aide. His crew claim in exchange for a chance to sail upon the high seas again Firebeard would need the souls of damned men. Being a man who's already taken life, he agreed to this charge. And so, he awoke from the beach on the infernal island. Within the end of the day a vessel holding prisoners of foreign crowns anchored off the coast. Firebeard through quite unconventional means sent the ship to Davy Jones. All hands and prisoners made it back to the island, where the single cursed man ordered the construction of a ship. Those who agreed were soon quite happy with their decision as those who denied found themselves involved regardless. Carnage, the ship made from the bones of dead men, set sail. And Captain Firebeard could imagine only one thing; revenge. Soon in the Shores of Plenty Carnage caught up with the Wrath of Hades. In a blaze of fire Carnage tore Firebeard's old vessel apart. He took his old mutinous first mates skull as a trophy and ever since, Captain Firebeard has amassed the Infernal fleet; claiming the Forsaken Shores as his own.
