Ghost Curse/Potion

  • I was thinking that maybe as a reward from a boss somewhere you could get a one time use, 'No Damage' potion. One per crew mate from the boss. It could then, whenever you drink it turn you 'GHOST'. Or something relative. What would happen is no damage out, BUT, no damage in. It would be more or less a short, passive mode.

    Hear me out...

    Maybe for a good 5 to 10 minutes, while in this curse, as mentioned, you can't deal damage (Which I think makes sence with the whole "ghost" theme) but also, you wont take damage. So, aside from looking like a complete BOSS, it could be good for a few diffrent things.

    Maybe you take no damage from other players for that period of time. I know that for those that be questin' heavy and working hard for that booty, a lot of gamers would enjoy a lil bit of that insurance policy while cashing in. Or maybe its just your ship takes no damage. Would be nice for many scenarios I think, but it could even receive the same 'ghost' reskin like the players. (Ferry?)

    Could be where its just no damage from drowning. But that way, you could swim super deep and find some new areas. I really think that there might be some cool potentials there.

    Some more animals/enemies on sea/land, also would be cool.

    But basically, great job, on a great game Rare! Absolutely love the teams openness, willingness, and direction of it all!

  • A ghost potion sounds like an amazing Idea but it would make it way too easy to just sneak onboard someones ship and take their loot since they cant stop you.

  • Well that was not a great idé (because even skelly’s dies and they are undead)

  • So now I can get aboard an enemy vessel and drop their anchor non stop, lift their sails, steer their ship, drop their loot in water, and use their gunpowder be safe from the explosion, and their is nothing they can do to stop it?

    If I was a person with bad intentions, I'd say sign me up.

    unless you make ghost mode no be able to interact with anything that's not on your ship

  • @squaz05 It would also make it really easy for other pirates to steal your stuff as again you cant stop them. Maybe you should be able to cancel the potion at will.

  • Love the theme, but the idea is too OP and way too unbalanced.

    eh..... that's why i'm not a game dev... i don't think things through.

  • @becausescience1 but the potion would only allow you to carry items gathered by your crew

  • @gowizard but what would clarify as an item gathered by your crew. If you sink a ship and want to collect the loot, you wouldn't be able to grab it, or what about shipwrecked loot as well.
