So yesterday I was finally free to complete the shore a plenty mission. My last one that I needed. Its runs from 4pm to 8pm where I live. I got one at 3:30 and stocked my brigantine to the max, I sailed to smugglers bay and got there just as day one was starting. I waited.....and waited..... and waited. No ships. By day 5, almost two hours into the mission I finally decided to try the event. I unlocked my crew and waited for two people to join. I hear a voice.. a squeaky voice, ah c**p it's a little kid. Then I hear another voice, another child. I had a 12 and 11 year old join my crew, and they were actually brothers. Just my luck, the last mission I need to do to complete the cursed sails and I get toddlers and no support ships. I say screw it and sail NW anyway. Instantly a meg shows up and the kid says I'm gonna shoot it with a cannonball. Boom shot fired. I screamed we need to save the all the supplies and headed back to smugglers bay. I calmly said I'm trying to do this mission. We need team work. The kid agreed. We set sail again. 1st ship comes up. And we start taking damage. Instantly the kids recognize their rolls and do what was necessary to keep us afloat. The 11 year old actually wanted to stay underneath and repair while his 12 year old brother aimed the cannons. I stepped back for a minute and was amazed, these kids and I were actually working together. We get to the last wave and our brig is sunk. I told them who ever dies first set sail straight back here. Both died and I was able to swim up to one of the skelly ships that was stuck on a rock. I used my bucket and sunk them. I then swam to one of the other rocks and was able to climb on top, staying in the mission zone. Unfortunately our ship spawned all the way down in the south east section of the map. The kids were adjusting sail and using the map for direction. All of a sudden I see a sloop sailing toward the last enemy ship. They pass the rock I'm on and I scream hey can you help me. I'm on a rock waiting for my other crew.....no answer. I watched as the sloop sinks the last skeleton ship. Since I was in the zone me and my crew were able to complete the mission! AMEN!. I swim up to the sloop and congratulate them, only to be met by gunfire. I evade long enough for our brig to sail back. And we automatically joined the sloops alliance. Since we all had the right flags up. The sloop writes back that since they killed the captain they get all the loot. The fire on us. But to my surprise the 12 year old fired back as the 11 year old swam to the ship lowered their anchor and killed the crew off. We sunk their ship and searched for the loot in the water. But the time it took for everything to unfold everything had sunk to the bottom. But to get back on track, I was amazed at the team work and comprehension these young kids had. I've been on crews with adults who couldn't put the same amount of teamwork thses kids did toward the cursed sails. I was pumped to say the least!!
Dang 12 year olds!
@e11evenbsouth This made me smile, as I've just go finished This week's Wilds crew with a random gally of kids.
We did it alone, sank three times but I couldn't fault the guys determination. I let them tell me what to do as being experienced, I wanted a break from leading the way.
Just goes to show not all kids are terrible at this game. Certainly changed my outlook.
I've had great experiences with younger children in games. They can definitely be as good, or better, than adults.
It makes the bad adults all the more difficult to tolerate, lol.
Kids, I can understand getting spontaneously foolish. And I try to never yell at 'em.I mean, I'm a silly pirate and all, but I like to get the job done well (and have tons of laughs, and take some risks, while we succeed).
