New chest type is a small let down..

    Devs mentioned we would get a new chest type with the cursed sails event that would be on the ships... hints lead many of us to beleive a new valuable possible cursed chests of some sort...

    By now most of us have seen the loot we can get from the skeleton ships... and.... after all the time they had to come up with some new and amazing item for us to fight over,

    its a stronghold chest and skull with a barnacle or two added to it..... slightly disappointing. Im sure the designers struggled for weeks on end coming up with that one...

    Would have liked to see a little more variety in that area, anyone else?

    Lol, this is the team that brought you "whack a miniature fish statue for 3 minutes" as a fun new content addition.
    And "just do 4 or 5 of each type of voyage" as their totally unique and aspirational pirate legend quests (touted as when the game would truly begin)
    And the team that still hasn't actually made a waterfall for PL ships to burst from, despite literally stating that they would.
    (nobody has given an adequate excuse for Rare outright LYING here)

    Well we got a new boat an adventure thats quite fun and that actually has replayabilty and some actual loot for doing it im not gonna complain.

    Expected a new chest type, thought they would do more than re hash an existing one , BUT at the same time, cannot say I am surprised at all..

    On the other hand, literally everyone and their mother knows by this point that Microsoft rushed the game out the door so they could have a new flagship title for the Xbox Game Pass.

    The waterfall entrance for Pirate Legend Ships was intended to come with the original May update they had planned, before they switched gears based on player feedback.

    The statues were mildly disappointing, but at no point has Rare been deceitful. Talk of a new cursed chest was pure speculation, nothing more. You hyped it up yourself.

    @frank3nst31n-69 Personally I think it's a valid criticism. I applaud Rare when they do a good job and criticize them when they don't. The campaign is stellar and tons of fun. The new chest is not new. It's a recolor of a an existing texture with an adjusted price.

    There may be a new chest still coming this is week 1 of a 3 week event where different things are going to happen each week. Perhaps that chest will show up eventually in this 3 week event.
