Pvp sucks

  • When other players are close its a guessing game if youll be friendly or not..its annoying doing voyages and then someone sneaks up and sinks you to steal what you worked for hours getting... I want to be able to dig treasure and fight skeletons without the hassle of having to watch my back for ships coming to steal off me and sink me because they suck at the game and have no skill to get their own stuff

  • Wow - you are a noob... nvm

you should learn how to escape and when it is time for an outpost.
Try to friend up with others.

The game is all about that PvP.
A [Mod Edit - Derogatory language] mode is like... well... it's redicilous...

  • @namegoesherebro 8/10. They will bite for sure.

The fact you think this game is all about PVP is 'ridiculous', but then when you have to call someone a noob, instead of addressing why they dislike something it shouldn't be much of a surprise.

  • @dragonsire2016

No problem at all - the complaining is senseless.

Why should I play a game, which is seriously market as a pirate, pvp, adventure, rpg game with sandbox elemts. Because I like these things.
It's like saying - why are there quests? I need to do 30 mins of quest to get loot? I wanna play round within 5 mins casual to have the money for a skin.

  • They sound pretty good at the game if they managed to sneak up on you and take all your stuff. All you need is a bit of awareness and it will never happen again.

Anyway, other players are just one of the threats that you need to watch out for. This is not a game where you can just dig treasure without any risk. Some will be friendly and others won't. You need to be ready for any kind of player that might get close to you.
If you don't want to lose your stuff, either improve at escaping, fighting or simply play on a galleon.

Losing your treasure is not fun, but it's part of the game. You will (mostly) have a combination of PvE and PvP when you play, so I suggest you practice in both : )

    Thank you my lord <3
I am too emotional here, because xbox and microsoft services are raging oooout >.<

  • pvp is fun.

  • @BlindNev has a very valid point, seems like theyre good at the game if they got to turn in your hard earned loot

  • @namegoesherebro If you think that pve is HARD in this game and pvp is EASIER way to find loot.... well... im not gonna say a word...
Just see you on seas with your hard working pve

  • @namegoesherebro This is a pirate game, its all about watching your back and being ready to fight. If you think it is easier to sink ships doing missions than to do the missions yourself, why not do so?

If you cant beat em, Join em.

  • @namegoesherebro Well there is a flaw there. Most likely they chose to engage in you for their own fun, and probably sink you for ship resources and loot. I dont think they stuckat the game, but rather play the game differently that's actively doing pvp. How ever, that doesn't mean theres a way our of that situation. If you see a ship turn to you, that's a clear indicator that they're gonna board you. If you're on a sloop, head upwind and you'll outrun them. If you have others, board and try to drop their anchor. If you got any explosives, dive in with it, and let go about a few seconds before the other ship hits it. Just know what to do in each situation

  • The PvP element and the possibility you stand to lose treasure if you're not careful is what makes the game most fun. I have lost treasure to clever sneaky pirates and through PvP fights where i have been bested. I always learn something new about my play style through every encounter and better myself for the next one.
If I were just finding treasure with no threat of it being taken away, i'd get bored.

Just last week i was being chased into the tavern to cash in a Chest of legends, that was right up there as one of the best moments since game launch for me.

The game is called 'sea of thieves'. The people stealing ur treasure are playing the game as intended. IMHO

  • @namegoesherebro welcome to Sea Of thieves.

  • The game is called sea of thieves, it’s kind of in the name to be fair lol

All I can suggest is that if you are soloing in a sloop, make trips to the outpost more frequent so that you have less to lose in one given moment.

Outposts are never far away so for the sake of a 5 minute detour you won’t lose out on as much loot.

  • “They have no skill to get their own stuff”, I’d take another look at what you wrote mate. You’re implying that it’s easier to fight other players than pressing the action key over and over again. Surely if gathering your own supplies is harder then why’d you not win the encounter

  • Why are there still people complaining about this? You bought a game where other players are essentially the main threat and now you complain about the game delivering on its promise?

  • The issue is that PvE is so boring people feel like they’re doing work instead of playing the game. The devs managed to make every basic function take ages in an effort to extend the life of their game. That and gamepass players are the reasons why nobody has any loot to steal. The real reason why PvE players are angry is it takes them hours to get a stockpile of trash and they have to cycle through many quests to get a half decent one.

You were a noob once too, as were we all. Nothing wrong with being new to something! :)

  • @ever-reddy Don't feed a troll. It's best to ignore him.

I feel his post should be removed by a mod for being insulting but that's not up to me.

  • @tehkriegsheld Do not use derogatory or vulgar language, and do not call people names. All of these are against the forum rules. Further infraction will result in a temporary ban.

  • @namegoesherebro

This is a problem when solo sailing, something not well supported in Sea of Thieves. You have no one to watch/defend your ship while trying to dig up the three chests or find 2 ever-lovin' chickens. Plus, if a ship comes near, you can't man cannons and drive. They know it and will seek to take advantage 98% of the time. As a fellow newer, solo player, I get you. You are basically playing the game on ultra hard mode. Hang in there or team up mate.

  • @private-ramb0

I do not feel that PvE is boring. I enjoy sailing from place to place, dealing with storms and wildlife*, while trying to complete jobs for one faction or another ...

    • includes PvPers, though I RP as a merchant sailor who is never aggressive (super-hard mode)
