They say there is no honor among thieves, right? In a world of pirates, one would think it would be total and utter chaos. However, some whipsers have suggested we are in a Sea of Friends, which, proved both true, yet wrong, for a few pirate crews last night.
A visit to Sanctuary Outpost saw three ships come together, two sloops and a galleon.
The newly minted alliance saw their first target coming towards the Outpost.
The sloops began chase as the galleon raised anchor.
The target, was itself, a galleon with a red and black hull. Cannons began firing and crews began methodically patching holes, bailing water and steering their vessels.
The red & black galleon took one sloop down and began to run. My vessel, the Sea Donkey, began to chase the enemy. They made it a good ways before the wind in our sails had given us the speed to catch the larger galleon. The friendly galleon was also right behind.
The Donkey circled its prey, like a shark, the cannons ripping through the galleon. The friendly galleon pulled up alongside the wounded ship, anchored and loosed their guns. The enemy had a surprise waiting, a powder keg. The explosion rocked both ships, the friendly galleon began to fill with water, it soon met a murky fate.
With the Sea Donkey the last ship remaining, we knew we had to avenge our brothers (and sister)-in-arms.
We came back around and set our guns ablaze on the enemy ship as her crew began to board our small sloop. A blunderbuss was fired and steel was swinging as they were cut down on the Donkey.
The red and black galleon began to slip below the surface of the sea, the crew left to the sharks.
As we came back around to inspect the bounty gained there were six chests floating in the sea. The two man crew grabbed the loot and made off to port after meeting up with their allies on the waves.
After some debate, and the Sea Donkey crew suggesting we split the loot, the other ships decided the Sea Donkey was worthy of all the booty being the last ship standing.
It was a decent haul, with friends made. A great night, on the Sea of Thieves.
