Update Required but it is not available

    Is there an issue with SoT right now? Trying to launch but it says there is an update needed but it can’t get it right now. It was working a couple of hours ago.

    I have the same Lavenderbeard error but I am on pc Windows 10. I have send a ticked don't know what to do, guess just waiting for an answer.

    @xraylexx As @Ant-Heuser-Kush said, power cycling your Xbox by holding down the power button for 7-10 seconds and turning it back on should fix this issue.

    @Boldgame I'm not sure how it works on PC but are you able to re-download the update? If you have the bandwidth and time, it might be worth uninstalling the whole thing and re-downloading it.

    @ant-heuser-kush I don't know how to uninstall the whole game I can't find it in the windows system uninstall utility and I don't see an uninstall function.

    every update comes with issues, i guess instead of playin fav game i can spend my time submitting trouble tickets?

    I rebooted my Xbox and it didn’t work. So I uninstalled the game and reinstalled it and 30 odd minutes later I could play again...

    @personalc0ffee lol I tryed it step by step but could not find it! But then clicked accidently play! And it started, no Lavenderbeard error for me no more! I got in the game! 😀

    I have had this problem today each time I have left the game and returned. An full Xbox reboot has resolved it every time. I hope everyone finds a solution that works for them.

    My buddy is having the same issue on Xbox One. But the difference is he got this message after he downloaded the update

    I’ve reset Xbox via hard reset and updated game but still getting message and game won’t load saying update required

    Mine was weird, it launched a blue screen, didn't update, allowed me to play on a VERY laggy server. I will full reboot my xb1x later tonight, hopefully that works as stated by others.

    Xbox server status page is showing issues with matchmaking games and other areas. Dont blame Rare.

    The error on Xbox One is

    NEEDS TO BE UPDATED, BUT WE CAN’T GET IT RIGHT NOW (0X8B050033)

    You can hard reset and reinstall and you might get lucky but the error comes back again.

    FYI,

    I'm on Xbox One X.
    Downloaded the patch last night and got Lavenderbeard, as did one of my friends on his normal Xbox One.

    Our fix that worked for us:
    Pressing the Guide button, tab across to Restart Console. Wait for it to reboot, then launch SoT. Worked first time for both of us.

    Another friend had this issue this morning, following the above fixed it for him on his Xbox as well.

    Thanks for posting your fix, fingers crossed it works for others in a similar situation!

    Rare are aware of the issue and are monitoring it and their twitter recommends the following - as ever, a Support ticket will enable the team to determine the extent of the issue.

    Turned my modem off for 5 minutes and all sorted if that helps

    @ghostpaw I keep getting lavender beard error what should I do? I tried hard reset and reinstalled the game. Still having the error message come up
