Last night was a blast.
Me and my crew of scallywags started out as usual. Got our galleon ready and stocked her up put liveries on them and were about to set sail when someone said: "There's a sloop incoming, really close too."
We had no loot and weren't going to sink a sloop for nothing so we waited. The sloop captain parked his ship a bit away from the galleon and started waving. We waved back and greeted him.
It seemd he just wanted to see a galleon up close. He was wearing newb clothes and only had the bear and bird figurehead so we showed him the ship and had a little chat with him.
We then decided to become nice pirates for that evening.
Our second encounter was with a parked loop at an island. The captain nowhere in sight. Two of our men shot there to help the captain. We also warned him about keeping his head on a swivel. You never know if that galleon will rob you blind.
Finally we were done for the day. We sold our loot and were about to call it a night when again a sloop rolled up on the port we were parked at.
Again two new players with two seafaerers chests and a Castaway chest. We greeted them but they started shooting at us (can't really blame them). I warned them once, twice and at the third time I showed them that attacking me was futile. After they came back from the ferry they were a lot less hostile.
They turned in their chests, we made some music and we drank at the pub. I even showed them a secret to everyone.
I hope the new players we met had a good enough experience to restore some trust in humanity. (one of them explained to me that everyone was always so hostile). I've done my part last night. Maybe tomorrow will bring death and destruction but Newbs.. Newbs will get a pet on the head and maybe a free captains chest.... maybe...
