Variety in sword type would be appreciated

  • With there being three types of raged weapons available each with different bonuses and draw backs why not some variety in swords?

Small Swords,Rapiers,Spadroons, and sabers were all used at sea during the golden age of sail and all offer differnt styles of combat with boons and drawbacks to each.

  • @jesser92 It doesn't even have to be all swords, I'll take that boarding axe too :)

  • @xcalypt0x That would be nice as well.

  • Cool idea. In what meaningful way could you differentiate them? Besides maybe range and hit speed.

  • @kzoo-kid perhaps charge and block type differences, really not much difference between the guns other than range, damage, and firing speed either.

  • Could give a variety of speed vs damage options

  • @omnipotence13 I do love options, think most people do too.

  • @jesser92 I was thinking Cuttlass, Dagger, Rapier, and Boarding axe

  • @cheatingpirate Thats a pretty solid selection.

  • If you watch the videos there is certainly a degree of rumbling on this topic and it's not being ignored by the devs. In fact, I'd wager they've already worked on it and are waiting for the right time to release the stuff let alone polish.

I'd simply appreciate seeing more 'blade' materials. I grow tired of most blades looking very, very, very similar.

  • @blooddoll22 In various teasers and tattoos there ARE rapiers depicted and even modeled. let's just hope they are of a new category.

  • @cheatingpirate Indeed my pal, we can hope!

  • @blooddoll22 Well I will wait and hope then.

  • I'd say keep the sword a sword.
I'd love to see more melee weapons period!
This way you'd never be confused when confronted with a different sword type of what it can do.

Small by the way. An axe has been spotted in the rafters of one of the weapon shops.

  • The pirate equivalent of Daggers, swords and broadaworda in a medieval era game.
    Love this idra!

You are right about that. Perhaps a better question is: how could you differentiate them in such a way that they would be useful in different situations, rather than a mere preference? For example, a blunder is good point-blank but a flintlock might be best under water.

  • i would rly like to have more sword combat but sadly the best way to go in pvp seems to be one shot makro 2 guns. i hope the devs pay attention to this because lately u meet it more and more and its so no skilled and boring

  • @kzoo-kid Pretty much this.
